Panlong River
Shanghai is a city had been born and became prosperous by river. Nowadays rivers’ importance are declining. We decide to reset the status of Dragon River and enroll Drgon Village into the river tour system of Tsingpu District which consist of many famous historic villages.
Shanghai is booming dramatically and citizens desire slow life, healthy foods and nature. It’s clever to maintain the agriculture and leisure lifestyle which are attractive to visitors and profitable to the local at the same time.
Offer different types of accommodation and job opportunities. Enhance condition of historic area, upgrade operating scale of farming, reform workshops into creative studios to support the revival of Panlong Village on its local industries.
LEGEND
KEY REGIONS
As a result of beening undeveloped, Panlong Historic Village is lucky to preserve with a typical traditional style of Southern Yangtze in China and good agriculture environment. Old residence area, the cross streets, Panlong river and many old factories are typical and significant factors.
It's Shanghai's west gate - the first and last kilometer of arriving at and leaving Shanghai. The Conference Center and the Hongqiao Transportation Hub will bring opportunities to the undeveloped Panlong Historic Village.

[Scale] Model, 27cm × 12cm × 54cm[Level] 4 weeks, 2th Year Academic Work {2010/09 - 2010/10}[Individual/Group] Individual Work[Supervisor] Prof. Wang Zhendong
Students need to choose a topic related to the theme of “waiting” and create a series of space within the boundary of 27cm*12cm*54cm. This space andreries should include three parts: arrival, waiting and leaving. The given volume is divided into two parts - abstract up and concrete down. Within this volume there are two limitations: a layered wall and a transparent wall.
Take function and plan as the key to make concept, and approach spatial creation. Take the process of modeling as design method, and approach the relationship among material, construction and spatial experience.
REQUIREMENT
I tried to create an environment for people to wait for a chance to escape. At first, people are attracted to the entrance by a cozy open space as well as its sweet color. After they put themselves in the midst of this model, spaces become depressive and make people feel a signal of danger. Thus people begin to find a way out and wait for such a chance. The following space andreries help to lead people move ahead until they find the exit.
