Place your accent strip and sandwich it over your pocket piece, and pin into place. Sew a top stitch along the bottom edge of your accent piece.

Place your pocket piece on the top of your main piece. Your main piece is right side up, and you will align the bottom edges and the sides. Pin into place and then sew a stay stitch along the left and right sides 1/4” in from the edge.

Take your two backing pieces and double fold over one of your long sides 1/4” and hem. Do this to both of your back pieces.

Now place your main front piece with attached pocket right side up, and then place one of your backing pieces right side down, aligning the edges - making sure the hemmed edge is towards the middle. Now place your other backing piece on top of your other pieces so that it is right side down. Pin all the layers into place and then sew a 1/2” seam along the outside edge. Once you are done, clip the corners and turn right side out and press.
