Daily Life
Each member of the Sioux tribe had to work together as part of the community.
The roles were divided among the men, women and children.
Defending the Tribe
We are defending the tribe. I was killing the people. That’s how we defend the tribe. I was using a bow and arrow.

We are riding the horses to catch buffalo.

We are making weapons and they are bows and arrows.

We are scouting and looking for animals.

We are trading buffalo skin and horns. On the buffalo skin it has a drawing like the grass hills and a buffalo.

We are protecting our family from other people.

Gathering Food
We are picking berries.

Housing
We used construction paper and toothpicks. It is a teepee. We cut a door. We are building a teepee.

We are carrying water.

Cooking
We are making fire for meals. We rub sticks.

Basket-Making
The women made baskets. They made them for carrying stuff. They made them by hand.
