For biking, running, or even cross-‐country skiing, you cannot beat the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP). The Great Allegheny Passage is 339 miles (546 km) of central trail in a network of continuous, non-‐motorized corridor. This long-‐distance, hiker-‐biker trail covers hundreds of miles
through the Allegheny region of the Appalachian Mountains, connecting Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C.

Appointed to the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service, the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is comprised of the thirteen-‐room conservatory itself and the adjoining grounds. In addition to hosting seasonal Flower Shows, the Conservatory has many primary flora exhibits, and the sophisticated glass and metalwork of the Lord & Burnham conservatory offers an interesting example of Victorian greenhouse
architecture. Phipps is one of the "greenest" facilities in the world. The entrance pavilion of the Phipps Conservatory has silver-‐level LEED certification. Its Center for Sustainable Landscapes has received a Platinum certification and fulfilled the Living Building Challenge for net-‐zero energy, while its greenhouse production facility has received Platinum certification, the first and only greenhouse to be so certified.
