Animation Pitch
What is a Pitch?
Pitching an idea is a great way to promote or sell your product/production
It is a way of saying what your intentions are and how you will achieve them
It is really useful for getting feedback or alternative approaches
Why do them?
Gain confidence at speaking to people
Sharing ideas
Understand your own idea clearly
What you should include in your Pitch
– If it has a title begin with that, if not say at present untitled
– What style of animation is it?
– Brief Synopsis
– How are you going to do it?
– What steps do you need to take during Pre-Production
– Do you need to make or design anything?
– Where will it be shot?
– Do you have any visual imagery to show, (Characters, Backgrounds etc.)
– Inspirations (if any)
– Have you thought about the soundtrack?
– Will there be any visual effects (post production)
GUIDE FOR PITCHING
Be clear about your intention and know what it is you are going to produce, this will make your pitch run smoothly.
Practice your pitch and make sure everything runs smoothly
Do NOT have too much information on any page as this means you have to read from the screen (if you are clear about your idea you should not have to)
Have notes in front of you if necessary
Leave some time for questions to be asked or give out a hand-out
