Junagadh Agricultural University aims at providing quality education to youth in the fields of agriculture,

THE UNIVERSITY PROFILE
The Junagadh Agricultural University's jurisdiction is spread over the districts of Junagadh, Jamnagar, Rajkot,
Porbandar, Surendranagar, Bhavnagar and Amreli of the Gujarat state. University offers higher education (UG &
PG) in the faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Fisheries Science, Veterinary Science
& Animal Husbandry and MBA in Agri Business Management. The university offers Diploma/Certificate
Coursers in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock, Bakery and Mali. University also imparts training to
extension functionaries of the line departments. The research on various issues related to different crops and
disciplines including Wheat, Millet, Pulses, Oilseeds, Cotton, Sugarcane, Fruit Crops , Vegetables, Dry Farming,
Grassland, Agricultural Engineering, Cattle Breeding and Fisheries is done by the university. To transfer the
agricultural technologies to the farmers university is having Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Sardar Smruti
Kendra (SSK). JAU has attracted the overseas students including students from Tanzania, South Africa and
Afghanistan. Other amenities like Central library, 24-hour internet connectivity, sports complex, auditorium,
gymnasium, and health centre etc. are also available at this campus to provide congenial environment to the
students for their overall personality development.

FACILITIES AT OUR PREMISES:
In September 2012, the institute moved to its new building. The institute, which has been constructed to
include modern pedagogical amenities, showcases green building design. JAU harnesses the best of modern
technology to satisfy the intellectual curiosity of its students and faculties. The campus, set in serene and
verdant environment, not only provides an excellent ambience for the community's academic endeavors but
also presents them with the opportunity to unwind. The Institute is ideally nestled in a picturesque and serene
campus of Junagadh Agricultural University. PGIABM offers students access to following facilities.
The Institute provides ideal environment through newly constructed and properly arranged building for young
minds to explore new ideas, and encourages creativity and independent thinking, even as it facilitates faculty
to engage in research that combines both rigor and relevance, and for all to develop the twin qualities of a life-
long yearning for learning with compassionately and caring attitude towards fellow human beings.
The focal point of the university is the well-stocked library having
more than 50,000 books of the latest editions, foreign & Indian
journals and periodicals in all fields of agriculture, management and
other general areas, audio-video cassettes and CD-ROMs. It has
ample space with a seating capacity of large number of students. The
library has internet facility and a Digital Library is also in use.
University library is privileged with the online access of Journals
through Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (Cera).
Institute has its own air conditioned computer lab with latest desktop
and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity. The students have ample
opportunities to access globe and to abreast themselves regarding
current scenario of any field.

The latest and well designed air conditioned classrooms equipped
with all the required modern facilities. We believe that the process of
teaching can be enhanced with the use of technology tools. It aids the
students by giving them a better understanding of concepts and gives
an extra edge by providing means to visualize the concept being
taught. Hence, the classrooms are equipped with computers,
projectors, modern sound systems, OHPs and other audio-visual tools.

Junagadh Agricultural University has always received great response
from the industries for the training & placement of its students. In
spite of the global slowdown in the last few years, a large number of
companies conducted interview for the graduates and post graduates
of JAU. The Student Counseling & Placement Cell looks after students'
well-being, placement and campus interview. The ultimate objective
is to groom the students to become good citizens of country by
personality development and skill for better living.

SPORTS:
Junagadh Agricultural University has twenty four hours health care
facility through an experienced doctor. It assists students to recover
immediately and to concentrate on studies. Health centre provides
consultation and treatment for common ailments.
In JAU the faculties always participate in student activities to make overall development possible in the student
community. Our Sports complex is well equipped with all necessary infrastructural facilities for indoor and
outdoor sports. During the year 2012 three boys in Kabbaddi, one boy in Table Tennis are selected in ICAR
national competition.
