Della MasonDella Mason, 95, of Mt.

Vernon, died Thursday, May 3,2007 at the Rockcastle Health& Rehabilitation Center inBrodhead. She was born inRockcastle County on October28, 1911 the daughter of Mar-tin and Susie Mallicoat Clark.She was a lifelong resident ofOrlando, KY and was a mem-ber of the Brush Creek HolinessChurch. She had been a home-maker and a Christian for over80 years. She loved her family,as well as baking, cooking, rais-ing flowers, and making quilts.

She is survived by: threesons, Charles Monroe(Lorraine) Mason, Loyd(Juanita) Mason, and MartinDelaney (Norma) Mason, all ofCincinnati, OH; a daughter-in-law, Jennie Mason, also of Cin-cinnati, OH; six grandchildren,Beverly Mason, Glenn Mason,Roger (Tonya) Mason, Kim(Jim) Hesketh, Mark (Janiece)Mason, and Randy Mason; andnine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in deathby: her husband, Walter LeeMason; a son, Eugene Mason;five brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services were con-ducted Sunday, May 6 at theDowell & Martin FuneralHome Chapel by Bro. AllenHensley. Burial was in the BriarField Cemetery.

husband of 41 years to Patsy AnnChandler Helton, of Brodhead,KY, died Wednesday, April 25th,2007 at the V.A. Medical Centerin Lexington, KY. He was bornon March 5th, 1946 in Hamilton,OH the son of the late Clintonand Jean Whitley Helton. Hewas a factory/maintenanceworker, having been an em-ployee at Goodyear Tire. He wasof the Baptist faith, serving his

country as a NavyVeteran. His hobbiesand interest includedfishing and hunting.

On July 20th, 1965, he wasunited in holy matrimony toPatsy Ann Chandler, and fromthat union came three children,Kelly Ann, Michelle Jean andAlan Curtis, Jr.

In addition to his wife, he issurvived by: three children,Kelly Ann Helton Schwartz ofFayetteville, NC, Michelle JeanHelton Duff of Brodhead, KY,and Alan Curtis (LaVonda)Helton, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, KY;six grandchildren, Nikki Hacker,Brandon Helton, Stevie Duff,Anna Schwartz, Meghin Heltonand DeNault Schwartz III; a halfbrother, Clint Helton; four sis-ters, Melody McKinney, BonnieWebb, Shelia King and GailZoller; step mother, VioletHelton Sexton; a special sister-in-law, Linda Collins; and a hostof friends and neighbors. Be-sides his parents, he was pre-ceded in death by a grandson,Cody Helton.

Services were conducted Sat-urday, April 28th, 2007 at theMarvin E. Owens Home for Fu-nerals with Bros. ShelbyReynolds and Luther Allen offi-ciating. Burial was in the PineyGrove Cemetery, with MilitaryRites by VFW 1410.

He was a mem-ber of the Union Chapel Pen-tecostal Church in Brodhead.He was a tool & die machinistand brake operator, havingbeen employed with KinnardBody Works in Erlanger, KY.His hobbies and interests in-cluded deer hunting andgardening.On June 29, 1946 hewas united in holy matrimonyto Ruth Ellen Woodall, andfrom that union came two chil-dren, Jerry and Patsy.

His hobbies and interestincluded trading. On April 1,1950 he was united in holy mat-rimony to Mary Helton andfrom that union came five chil-dren, James G., Dealva, Jr.(Rick), Teresa, Mary Ann andBarry Lee.

Local survivors include aspecial niece and caregiver,Patricia Thomas Azbill and herhusband Chester of Mt. Vernon,as well as, numerous relativesand friends. In addition to herparents, she was preceded indeath by her loving husband,Bill Stills.

She is survived by: her par-ents, Jamie and Carrie HawkinsZapf of Columbia; her twin sis-ter, Gabriella Madelyn Zapf;her brother, Tristan Zapf; hermaternal grandparents, Sheldonand Janie Hawkins ofHardyville; her paternal grand-parents, Barbara and OrbaAllen of Mt. Vernon; her ma-ternal great grandparents, Leeand Mossie Henson ofManchester and Betty Mamauof Indianapolis, IN; an uncle,Terry Zapf of Cincinnati, OH;and an aunt, Rebecca Hawkinsof Glasgow.
