Performance and Energy

• We consider the extreme case of energy efficiency and performance improvement and try to find the balance– Performance: analyze the usage pattern and let the

NVCache serves the random access and disk serves the sequential access

– Energy efficiency: Write back cache and merge the write request when write back

• We will analyze the reliability issue under these two situations

• We focus on the SLC nand flash since performance is one of our goals, but try to modify the policy to cooperate with MLC flash.
