People Who Help Us
Our PSHE tasks this week are going to focus on looking at the NHS. Below
we have copied some slides from a Twinkl PowerPoint to give you some
information about what the NHS is and how it helps us.
There are lots of people in society who work hard to help and protect us. This
included the emergency services (police, firefighters, paramedics, doctors and
nurses) and many other jobs such as social services, postal workers, refuse
collectors and teachers. You will have heard the news refer to these people as
‘Key Workers’ at the moment as they are working hard to keep everyone safe.
Hopefully this has answered some of your questions about the NHS. We
know it is something that is being spoken about a lot in the news at the
moment and it can get very confusing.
More information on the NHS can be found on the Newsround website:

Challenge
Lots of healthcare workers are being mentioned at the news at the moment and
people are being celebrated for all that they are doing to help the NHS. Write a
letter to someone that you have spotted working incredibly hard to help others at
the moment. Make sure you explain why you are thanking them and what you are
grateful for.
