ADULT FORMATION
RCIA Inquiry Classes Inquiry Classes (RCIA) on the Catholic Faith to begin Thursday, August 27th.
Do you have a spouse, a family member, a neighbor that is not Catholic and is interest-
ed in learning more about the Catholic Faith? If you have anyone that is interested in
being part of our Parish Inquiry Classes that will begin in late August or early Septem-
ber be sure to call the Parish Office and leave your name and phone number. What a
wonderful gift we have to share with others, the gift of our Catholic Faith. We are so
blessed to be members of the Church that Jesus Christ established and His teachings
have been handed down to us from the Apostles and their successors to us today. Since
we have been so blessed, we are also responsible in sharing this great gift with others
who are not aware of it. "Go into all the world"....as Jesus said.
St. John 55th
Annual Picnic
* KEEP SEPTEMBER 12TH OPEN ON YOUR CALENDAR.
* COME ENJOY THE PICNIC AND HELP US SERVE OUR FRIENDS & FAMILY.
Picnic Update There will be someone from the raffle committee to receive sold tickets in the narthex at
each weekend mass. You may also pick up additional tickets at this time.
Country Store PLEASE, remember the country store when doing all your winter/spring cleaning. Do-
nations are accepted year round. Bring your items to the school building and place them
in the classroom, 1st door on the left. Please no bed linens, clothing, or stuffed animals.
Only clean, unbroken items. Thanks!!!
It is almost picnic time and if you have any of your beautiful handmade items you
would like to donate for the craft booth, they would be greatly appreciated. Please price
your handiwork as we want to charge what you feel your hard work is worth. Please
take your items to the quilt room or else to Hazel in the parish office.
Why Do We Have a Picnic?
— The PICNIC is put on each year because it continues the mission of Jesus Christ in
our Parish and the larger community in which we live. We fulfill our mission by evan-
gelization and the Picnic offers two ways for us to evangelize:
(1) Hospitality, hard work, service to the community around us, etc. are all testimonies
of our life as Christians.
(2) Funds generated help to keep the Church doors open and when the Church is
“open” evangelization takes place in education, charitable works & building of
community.
