Executive summary
• System philosophy;
Detect – Contain – Collect – Transfer
• “A chain never better than weakest link” – oil spill recovery is very complex operations, success is depending on coordination of quality equipment and vessel, all actually enabled to do the job
• Each component (Skimmer-boom-tug boat-radar) tested and verified together in “oil on water” exercises and real operations – it work in real life
• OSRgroup offer not only the equipment, but also expert knowledge and experience, engineering, training, service and finance.

NorLense mobile mezzanine deck Objective:
Will significantly reduce risklevel for crew, improve the effectivness of Oil Spill
Response and improvement of the total logistics.
• NorLense mobile mezzanine deck solution improve the vessels flexibility during
normal operations:
• Operate one vessel as St.by vessel/PSV/AHTS/ROV and at same time OSR
• Personnel operate equipment always in sheltered area
• Minimum tear and wear due to sheltered deck for operation, maintenance and
storage of oil spill equipment
• NorLense mobile mezzanine deck do not influence on the vessels utilization of
their other duties as St.by vessel/PSV/AHTS/ROV
• Oil spill from operation limited to Mezzanine deck
• Vessels with NorLense mobile mezzanine deck are instantly prepared to
response as OSRV
• Cost saving (by utilizing existing service vessels)

Oil Spill management System
– Automatic oil spill detection
– Tactical oil recovery management; Where is the combatable oil, how is it moving, where must I be placed?
– Tactical collaboration and information sharing with vessels, airborne and land resources
– Integration of operational sensor data; e.g weather, metocean, oil spill drift models, etc
Detection Verification Measurement Clean up
OSD Radar:
Long range detection of potential oil spills
Location and total extent
SECurus sensor:
24 hour long range detection of targets Stabilised, actively cooled IR Camera to verify OSD radar detected oil spill and false alarms. Measure and geo-reference the combatable portions of the spill
SECurus sensor and display:
Position oil spill in Electronic Chart Measure relative thickness and calculate volume Drift predictions ID and position of other vessels in the area
SECurus system:
Decide clean up method. Monitor operations and effect of clean up, night and day Create the common operating picture Share information between vessels, airborne resources and land; Tactical decisions and collaboration

Oil Spill management System
The SECurus pointing unit:
• Stabilized camera platform for movements in 6 degrees of freedom.
• Long range cooled Infrared camera gives a long range vision day/night.
• Daylight DV camera
• Long range xenon searchlight.
The SECurus enables the possibility to geographically locate and draw the combatable parts of the slick in an electronic chart system
The cooled infrared sensor in the SECurus is the ONLY operational sensor type today that can measure relative thickness*)
Radar is for DETECTION ONLY, and can not measure combatability *)
*)Evaluated and recommended as industry standard by Norwegian Oil and Gas on behalf of all E&P Operators on NCS
