• Fiber capacity crunch• Today we have noticed 100 Tb/s single mode fiber hero
experiments;• Theoretical limit are around 200 Tb/s (mainly due
nonlinear effects);• CMOS ASICs limitations
• Processor frequency does not obey moore law since year 2000 (Core i7 runs at 3.5GHz)
• CMOS process today is 14nm, and the limitation is about 0.5 nm (two atoms layer);
