OLD FASHION VALUES3. GRATITUDE
WHAT IS GRATITUDE?What are you grateful for?
WHO HAS CHANGED YOUR LIFE?What did they do and how did they do it?
SHOULD EVERYONE GET A TROPHY?What are the benefits and dangers?
GratitudeGratitude can transform common days into
thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

T1 GRATITUDE IS RETURNING TO THOSE WHO LIBERATED YOU.
Luke 17:11-19
11As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and
Samaria. 12As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, 13crying out,
“Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”14He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves
to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
Luke 17:11-14
15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” 16He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for
what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.17 Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are
the other nine? 18Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed
you.Luke 17:15-19
MaturityMaturity is the ability to think, speak and act your
feelings within the bounds of dignity. The measure of your maturity is how spiritual you become during the
midst of your frustrations.Samuel Ullman
Our maturity will be judged by how well we are able to agree to disagree and yet continue to love one
another, to care for one another, and cherish one another and seek the greater good of the other.

T2 GRATITUDE IS WAITING YOUR TURN.Luke 15:12-14
12The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.
13 “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. 14About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over
the land, and he began to starve.Luke 15:12-14
EntitlementIf God was the owner, I was the manager. I needed to adopt a steward's mentality toward the assets
He had entrusted - not given - to me. A steward manages assets for the owner's benefit. The
steward carries no sense of entitlement to the assets he manages. It's his job to find out what the owner wants done with his assets, then carry out
his will. Randy Alcorn

the servants what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his
safe return.’Luke 15:25-27
