Absences due to pre-approved college visits will not count
against seniors for exam exemptions. Seniors must have
approval from their professional school counselor prior to the
college visit and must submit documentation of visit upon
returning.

Confirmations need to be turned in to Mrs. Tipton ASAP!
When you are absent from school, please remember to turn
your absentee note in to Mr. Floyd IMMEDIATELY! Mr. Floyd’s
office is located in Pupil Services.
Detention is assigned for students who are tardy to school or class
3 or more times. The detention is always posted outside of the Pupil
Services office. Detention notices are also issued.
If you fail to attend detention you will be automatically assigned a
day of ISS!!!
If you fail to attend ISS or comply with ISS rules you will receive an
OUT OF SCHOOL SUSPENSION!!
Congratulations to the students of CAPA Drama who completed
in the District Speech and Debate Competition. Nareco
Transou, Alexandra Richmond and Alexis Sledge all qualified to
go to the State Competition on April 22nd in Morristown,
Tennessee.
Congratulations to all FCCLA Competition Award winners who last week placed Bronze, Silver or Gold at the Tenn. – FCCLA Competition. Brandon Spearman, Dacavian Reeves, Derrick Daily & Diante Helton advanced to Nation in San Diego, California this summer to represent Overton. Other winners are Tautiana Demesma, Raven Walker, Camille Smith, NormeshaWestbrook, Kristy Sandusky, Kristen Smith, Rheya Trayler, Derryka Daily, Alexis Lopez, Jalen Steward, Cameron Noel, Myles McGoughy and Kevin Smith.

Overton’s CAPA Drama Department presents their Spring Play
“Antigone”! The show runs this Friday, Saturday and Monday at
7pm, also on Sunday at 2:30pm. All tickets are $5 and can be
purchased at the door before the performance. Don’t miss out
on this updated setting of this classic Geek Tragedy!
All National Honor Society Members are to have community
service hour forms submitted to Mrs. Odum by April 29, 2016.
The Spring Facing History & Ourselves Teach-In will be this
Thursday, April 14 at Douglass High School. Please join us at
6:00pm and be sure to bring an adult with you. Dinner will be
served.
The ASVAB test for seniors will be given on April 19th. Please
see Ms. Osman to sign up.
Bridge Builders Applications are being accepted. The deadline
to turn in your application is Friday, April 15. Please see Ms.
Osman for more information.
Please help the OHS Pride club’s smile drive. They will be by
the door from 6:45am to 7:10am to collect toothbrushes and
toothpaste for the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community
Center’s homeless youth. Everyone who donates will be able to
eat in the courtyard on Friday.
