Offshore Wind Solutions

M-NAV Solutions is a Marine Aids to Navigation (AtoN) specialist, delivering solutions and services to the maritime sector. M-NAV Solutions is an Industrial Member of the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA).

We understand the importance of the maritime domain in offshore wind and we work with two key partners to provide a comprehensive range of marine coordination, maritime safety, surveillance and management solutions for this sector.

Our partner, Vissim AS, is the global leader in the development and delivery of some of the world’s largest maritime surveillance and offshore management systems. We work with Vissim AS to deliver an offshore marine surveillance and coordination suite that is tailored for the offshore wind sector, utilising cutting edge software coupled with the integration of sensor technology.

Our AtoN manufacting partner, Mediterraneo Senales Maritimes (MSM), is a world leader in the design and supply of AtoN. We work closely with MSM to provide the full range of lanterns, buoyage, beaconing and visual signalling solutions required for the development, construction, and operational phases of Offshore Wind installations.

M-NAV, through its strategic alignment with its partners, is committed to providing relevant, innovative and integrated solutions for the offshore wind sector, with a focus on mitigating marine risk across the whole spectrum of offshore wind and providing opportunities, effective systems and tools to increase efficiency and maximise the use of assets and resources.

Offshore Marine Coordination and Surveillance Suite

Our Offshore Marine Coordination and Surveillance Suite contributes to the safety of all marine user groups during the construction and operational phases. It provides a link between the planning room and offshore execution, between regulatory policies and actual offshore compliance, and later, between maintenance schedules and physical delivery of those maintenance services. These turnkey systems utilise multiple sensors, including AIS, ADS-B, radar, real time metocean sensors and weather forecasts, CCTV and radio transceivers networked to one or more control centres. Multiple sensor feeds and communication technologies are integrated into a feature-rich graphical display, providing alerts and consistent decision support based on operational parameters. The systems include an integrated online platform to manage personnel and vessel certification, inductions and manifest planning. Project vessels and personnel can be equipped with Personnel Tracking Units, allowing the system to collect and display information about vessel and personnel location, overlaying that information on marine charts. This is important during both construction and operations due to the complexity of a fast-changing, multi-contractor and resource environment. Our systems support safe and efficient operations by combining unparalleled real time situational awareness with planning, tracking, communication and information management tools.Vissim Offshore WInd systems have been used in the construction and maintenance of more than 20 Offshore Wind Farms thus far.

Page 5: Offshore Wind Solutions - M-NAV

One of the key benefits of the Offshore Marine Coordination and Surveillance suite is the modular and flexible nature of the core VISSIM application. Multiple applications are available to build a system that is fully responsive to customer requirements. Software modules include:Vissim VTMS Application - Provides a complete operational picture of the maritime domain environment. The tight integration with Vissim Offshore Energy Manager enables an efficient operating environment where relevant information is easily available depending on situation. Vissim VTMS is developed in close collaboration with some of the major operators in offshore energy and software designers.

Vissim Offshore Energy Manager - Supports planning of crew manifests and real time personnel transfer operations over the lifecycle of offshore installation and operation. The web based platform includes a comprehensive personnel database, vessel and helicopter database and asset (turbine) database. The use of these databases in combination with real time operating conditions such as weather sensors and forecasts enables efficient marine planning and coordination.

Vissim Radio Communication - Controls all radios in the system and allows direct calling from VTMS GUI operator stations.

Vissim CCTV Module - Controls the cameras installed and enables direct control from VTMS GUI including auto-tracking.

Vissim System Management Module - Enables real time performance monitoring of all components of the system such as radars, AIS base stations, VHF base stations and IT equipment.

Vissim Wave Height Detection - Provides real time sea state information by using effective and highly advanced algorithms analysing radar video.
