Keeping up to date
BMJ Evidence Updates plus.mcmaster.ca/EvidenceUpdates/
The BMJ Evidence Updates is another way to keep up to date with new research without overloading your e-mail system.
Register for free and receive news of the latest journal articles, systematic reviews and guidelines.
You can then click the e-mail links to read an abstract and discover what other healthcare professionals say about an article that interests you.
12Knowledge and Library Services
The CNO Bulletin (DH) http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Bulletins/Chiefnursingofficerbulletin/index.htm
“This bulletin aims to provide you with updated information about relevant issues in the NHS which will be of specific interest to nurses, midwives and health visitors. It will also enable you to obtain further detail about particular issues.”
13
Journal Article Updates (eToCs) Why not consider signing up to electronic Table of Contents (eToCs) alerts to the journals of your choice? This means that each time a new journal issue is published, a table of contents is sent to you by email. You will have free access to article abstracts (where provided). Electronic Table of Contents are another excellent way to keep up to date with developments in your subject and in general healthcare. They are a quick and easy way to scan n ewly published literature. To sign up to the journal alerts of your choice, please contact the library. We currently register for hundreds of journal alerts and will forward the electronic Table of Contents to the email address of your choice. We will inform you in each email whether you have full-text access to the articles and we will also ensure that it is easy for you to cancel the alerts from journals that you do not find useful.
