Family Reflection Time on the Gospel
Jesus speaks to a question that eventually arises in all
groups—who belongs and who does not. John has de-
cided that a man driving out demons in Jesus’ name
cannot be his follower because he is not part of their
group. Jesus instead looks at the man’s actions and
judges him to be sincere. May we, who were “claimed
for Christ” at our Baptism, show the world—and our
children—by our every word and action that we are
indeed followers of Christ and lead them to follow him,
too.
ON THE WAY HOME FROM MASS:….
What does it mean to follow Jesus? How can we be
more like him?
LIVING THE WORD:
Talk about some “mighty deeds” you can do for each
other in Jesus’ name. Have each person agree on one
action to offer as a gift to another family member.
Think of neighbors or parishioners who might need
help with raking leaves, shopping or other chores. Make
a commitment to work together as a family in Jesus’
name to meet that need.
