Androgyny is the elimination of gender and sex identication, a more puried form of being. Within
this piece I portray the convergence of the duality of both male and female through biological
identication, stereotypes, spirituality, and form. The 3 x 3 squares are adhered to a creme colored
paper and attached by thread, then tied together with a ribbon, placed within a wooden laser cut box.

De Stile: A Look At a 20th Century Art Movement

Black Copy Paper
Spring 2012Visual Methods
52 x 90
By Implementing techniques from the De Stijl art movement, I created thirty 8 x 8 squares using
only parallagram-shaped strips of black paper. This piece balances the foreground and background,
creating a dynamic gure-ground relationship in which the eye does not rest but continuously follows
the various patterns throughout the piece.

Blur is a twelve page zine that illustrates a grouping of mass produced items that are commonly
used everyday, forming an identication system. To emphasize how consumers identify with each
product, I have removed their brand names and emphasized the texture related with the item.
Although these products are widely available and numerous, a unique grouping have the ability todene an individual.

McSweeneys: A Motley of Ironic Short Stories and Blurbs
80 Lb Classic Columns
TypographyFall 2011
14 x 19
McSweeneys is an internet archive full of different short blurbs. I chose several blurbs that had
ironic detail and undertones to portray in this booklet. The design contrasts a regal design with
arbitrary yet purposeful accents to further emphasize the irony of the stories. For instance, within
the pull quote on this page, varied fonts act as a converse to the rest of the clean and elegant design.

Fleeting Fractals
Visualization & CreativityFall 2012
18 x 24
The aim of this poster is to appeal to an audience of college-aged students and encourage them to explore
nature in Gainesville. The picture was taken with a 35-mm camera on Paynes Prairie. I chose to accent
the pictures with playful triangles and fractal elements in reference to common contemporary themes.

Glitch Aesthetic is a book cover for the doctoral thesis of Rebecca Jackson. Glitch Aesthetic is about
the indexical history of the glitch throughout time and its societal effect, ranging from pop culture to
paranoia. The dimension of the cover portrays the shiftiness of the glitch as the condensed typefaces
remain easily distinguishable. The bright color scheme mirrors the illumination of technology as thetitle becomes varyingly more noticeable in different traces of light.

Lani was designed to represent an array of luxury items from Hawaii. From the left there is chocolate,
oil, and bar soap. Each item is colored to represent the main fruit in each of the ingredients. For instance,
the oil is infused with pineapple and the soap is infused with tangerine oil. The background is overlaid
with a oral pattern followed by a subtle gradient.
