Fire Alarm System LimitationsWhile a fire alarm system may lower insurance rates, it is not a substitute for fire insurance!
An automatic fire alarm systemtypically made up of smoke detec-
tors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, audible warning devices,
and a fire alarm control panel with remote notification capabilitycan
provide early warning of a developing fire. Such a system, however,
does not assure protection against property damage or loss of life
resulting from a fire.The Manufacturer recommends that smoke and/or heat detectors be
located throughout a protected premise following the recommenda-
tions of the current edition of the National Fire Protection Association
Standard 72 (NFPA 72), manufacturer's recommendations, State and
local codes, and the recommendations contained in the Guide for
Proper Use of System Smoke Detectors, which is made available at
no charge to all installing dealers. A study by the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (an agency of the United States government)
indicated that smoke detectors may not go off in as many as 35% of
all fires. While fire alarm systems are designed to provide early warn-
ing against fire, they do not guarantee warning or protection against
fire. A fire alarm system may not provide timely or adequate warning,
or simply may not function, for a variety of reasons:
Smoke detectorsmay not sense fire where smoke cannot reach thedetectors such as in chimneys, in or behind walls, on roofs, or on the
other side of closed doors. Smoke detectors also may not sense a
fire on another level or floor of a building. A second-floor detector, for
example, may not sense a first-floor or basement fire.
Particles of combustion or smokefrom a developing fire may not
reach the sensing chambers of smoke detectors because:
Barriers such as closed or partially closed doors, walls, or chimneys
may inhibit particle or smoke flow.
Smoke particles may become cold, stratify, and not reach the ceiling
or upper walls where detectors are located.
Smoke particles may be blown away from detectors by air outlets.
Smoke particles may be drawn into air returns before reaching the
detector.The amount of smoke present may be insufficient to alarm smoke
detectors. Smoke detectors are designed to alarm at various levels of
smoke density. If such density levels are not created by a developing
fire at the location of detectors, the detectors will not go into alarm.
Smoke detectors, even when working properly, have sensing limita-
tions. Detectors that have photoelectronic sensing chambers tend to
detect smoldering fires better than flaming fires, which have little visi-
ble smoke. Detectors that have ionizing-type sensing chambers tend
to detect fast-flaming fires better than smoldering fires. Because fires
develop in different ways and are often unpredictable in their growth,
neither type of detector is necessarily best and a given type of detec-
tor may not provide adequate warning of a fire.
Smoke detectors cannot be expected to provide adequate warning of
fires caused by arson, children playing with matches (especially in
bedrooms), smoking in bed, and violent explosions (caused by escap
ing gas, improper storage of flammable materials, etc.).
Heat detectorsdo not sense particles of combustion and alarm only
when heat on their sensors increases at a predetermined rate or
reaches a predetermined level. Rate-of-rise heat detectors may be
subject to reduced sensitivity over time. For this reason, the rate-of-rise feature of each detector should be tested at least once per year
by a qualified fire protection specialist. Heat detectors are designed
to protect property, not life.
IMPORTANT! Smoke detectorsmust be installed in the same room
as the control panel and in rooms used by the system for the connec-
tion of alarm transmission wiring, communications, signaling, and/or
power. If detectors are not so located, a developing fire may damage
the alarm system, crippling its ability to report a fire.
Audible warning devicessuch as bells may not alert people if these
devices are located on the other side of closed or partly open doors or
are located on another floor of a building. Any warning device may
fail to alert people with a disability or those who have recently con-
sumed drugs, alcohol or medication. Please note that:
Strobes can, under certain circumstances, cause seizures in people
with conditions such as epilepsy.
Studies have shown that certain people, even when they hear a fire
alarm signal, do not respond or comprehend the meaning of the signal.
It is the property owner's responsibility to conduct fire drills and other
training exercise to make people aware of fire alarm signals and
instruct them on the proper reaction to alarm signals.
In rare instances, the sounding of a warning device can cause tempo-
rary or permanent hearing loss.
A fire alarm systemwill not operate without any electrical power. If
AC power fails, the system will operate from standby batteries only for
a specified time and only if the batteries have been properly main-
tained and replaced regularly.
Equipment used in the systemmay not be technically compatiblewith the control panel. It is essential to use only equipment listed for
service with your control panel.
Telephone linesneeded to transmit alarm signals from a premise to
a central monitoring station may be out of service or temporarily dis-
abled. For added protection against telephone line failure, backup
radio transmission systems are recommended.
The most common causeof fire alarm malfunction is inadequate
maintenance. To keep the entire fire alarm system in excellent work-
ing order, ongoing maintenance is required per the manufacturer's
recommendations, and UL and NFPA standards. At a minimum, the
requirements of NFPA 72 shall be followed. Environments with large
amounts of dust, dirt or high air velocity require more frequent mainte
nance. A maintenance agreement should be arranged through the
local manufacturer's representative. Maintenance should be sched-

Installation PrecautionsAdherence to the following will aid in problem-free installation with long-term reliability:
WARNING - Several different sources of power can be connected
to the fire alarm control panel. Disconnect all sources of power
before servicing. The control unit and associated equipment may be
damaged by removing and/or inserting cards, modules, or intercon-
necting cables while the unit is energized. Do not attempt to install,
service, or operate this unit until this manual is read and understood.CAUTION - System Reacceptance Test after Software Changes.
To ensure proper system operation, this product must be tested in
accordance with NFPA 72 after any programming operation or
change in site-specific software. Reacceptance testing is required
after any change, addition or deletion of system components, or after
any modification, repair or adjustment to system hardware or wiring.
All components, circuits, system operations, or software functions
known to be affected by a change must be 100% tested. In addition,
to ensure that other operations are not inadvertently affected, at least
10% of initiating devices that are not directly affected by the change,
up to a maximum of 50 devices, must also be tested and proper sys-
tem operation verified.
This system meets NFPA requirements for operation at 0C to 49C
(32F to 120F) and at a relative humidity 93% 2% RH (noncon-
densing) at 32C 2C (90F 3F). However, the useful life of the
system's standby batteries and the electronic components may be
adversely affected by extreme temperature ranges and humidity.
Therefore, it is recommended that this system and all peripherals be
installed in an environment with a nominal room temperature of 15-
27 C/60-80 F.
Verify that wire sizes are adequatefor all initiating and indicating
device loops. Most devices cannot tolerate more than a 10% I.R.
drop from the specified device voltage.
Like all solid state electronic devices,this system may operate
erratically or can be damaged when subjected to lightning-induced
transients. Although no system is completely immune from lightning
transients and interferences, proper grounding will reduce susceptibil
ity. Overhead or outside aerial wiring is not recommended, due to an
increased susceptibility to nearby lightning strikes. Consult with theTechnical Services if any problems are anticipated or encountered.
Disconnect AC power and batteriesprior to removing or inserting
circuit boards. Failure to do so can damage circuits.
Remove all electronic assembliesprior to any drilling, filing, ream-
ing, or punching of the enclosure. When possible, make all cable
entries from the sides or rear. Before making modifications, verify that
they will not interfere with battery, transformer, and printed circuit
board location.
Do not tighten screw terminalsmore than 9 in-lbs. Over-tightening
may damage threads, resulting in reduced terminal contact pressure
and difficulty with screw terminal removal.
Though designed to last many years,system components can fail
at any time. This system contains static-sensitive components.Always ground yourself with a proper wrist strap before handling any
circuits so that static charges are removed from the body. Use static-
suppressive packaging to protect electronic assemblies removed from
the unit.
Follow the instructionsin the installation, operating, and program-
ming manuals. These instructions must be followed to avoid damage
to the control panel and associated equipment. FACP operation and
reliability depend upon proper installation by authorized personnel.

Section 1 NFN Gateway-2 Overview
1.1 Product Description
This gateway:
Translates NOTI-FIRE-NET panel and device data into data that can be interpreted by a
ONYXWorks Workstation. Is the bridge between a ONYXWorks Workstation and a NOTI-FIRE-NET network.
Monitors NOTI-FIRE-NET networks over an IP network.
Is configured using the Gateway Configuration Utility.
The NFN Gateway-2 software application resides on a PC board assembly mounted in a CAB-3/4
series cabinet. It communicates with any Workstation on the ONYXWorks system via an IP
connection over Ethernet. The NFN Gateway-2 has the ability to use VeriFire Tools, connected
to the second NUP of the NFN Gateway-2s NCM, and to upload/download data to a panel
remotely.
The NFN Gateway-2 behaves as any other node on NOTI-FIRE-NET network and is compatible
with the following node types:
The NFN Gateway-2 allows users to view properties and control functions of all NOTI-FIRE-NET
devices through the Workstations operating system. This is done through the NFN Explorer and is
explained further in Section 5, ONYXWorks Workstation Operation, on page 33. The NFN
Gateway-2 requires specific hardware and software configuration of the ONYXWorks system to
function. Both hardware and software installations are discussed in the following sections.

1.2 NFN Gateway-2 System Architecture
The NFN Gateway-2 assembly connects to NOTI-FIRE-NET through NUP via the NCM-W/F; the
NFN Gateway-2 connects to ONYXWorks via Ethernet. The NFN Gateway-2 bridges an
ONYXWorks and NOTI-FIRE-NET system together, and it can use a Workstation as the primary
reporting station of NOTI-FIRE-NET network.
The NFN Gateway-2 component bridges NOTI-FIRE-NET and ONYXWorks by connecting to
the Workstation software through IP. Once this connection is made, a Workstation can monitor and
control the NOTI-FIRE-NET network. Figure 1.1provides a sample of a network diagram of a
method to connect the NFN Gateway-2.
Every ONYXWorks network must have at least one PC on which the Workstation can run. It is
possible to run these applications on separate machines over the IP network; this may be preferable
for larger networks.

Ethernet Network Installation Overview
ONYXWorks is a Proprietary Supervising Station that has a supervised client server architecture
that communicates over IP networks. The Ethernet network can be a shared bandwidth system that
operates over topologies such as an intranet, the Internet or a frame relay system. ULC does not
allow operation over an Internet connection.
ONYXWorks clients, in the most basic system, can co-exist on one computer. For more
powerful systems, multiple computers can be networked together over the Ethernet network
running multiple instances of the Workstation application or other clients and gateways.
If the Workstation or gateway is sharing on-premises communications equipment, the shared
equipment shall be listed for the purpose. If on-premises communications equipment is not listed
for the purpose, the fire alarm transmitter shall be installed ahead of the unlisted communications
equipment.
Listed for the purpose has been formally interpreted by NFPA (Formal Interpretation 72-99-1)
for equipment on packet switched networks as being listed to the requirements applicable to
general purpose communications network equipment.
For ULC applications, the Internet cannot be used for either primary or ancillary functionality.

2.1 Required Equipment
To use a NFN Gateway-2 the following equipment is required:
"NFN Gateway-2 Components".
A UL listed, battery backed, +24VDC power supply.
RJ45 to RJ45 standard Ethernet network cable - Network connection to PNET-1 surge
suppressor (supplied by customer).
NCM-W/F Network Communications Module - used to facilitate network communication
between the NFN Gateway-2 and NOTI-FIRE-NET (ordered separately).
CAB-3/CAB-4 series cabinet or CHS-4L chassis (ordered separately).
NOTI-FIRE-NET version 5.0 or later.
NOTI-FIRE-NET Panel.
ONYXWorks Workstation computer with software application installed.ONYXWorks
Workstation.
NFN Gateway-2 Components

The reset button that is identified with a silk screened label of NODE, is used to return the
gateway to the factory set IP address setting. Press and hold the button for at least 15 seconds to
accomplish a reset.
Lithium Battery
The lithium battery (P/N: 31007) has a factory installed fish-paper-type insulator between the
battery and the battery mounting bracket. Remove the insulator after the motherboard is
installed.

1 GeneralAll cabinets are fabricated from 16 gauge steel. The cabinet consists of two basic components: a backbox and a locking
door.
The key-locked door is provided with a pin-type hinge, two keys, and the necessary hardware to mount the door to the
backbox. The backbox has been engineered to provide ease-of-entry for the installer. Knockouts are positioned at
numerous points to let the installer bring conduit into the enclosure easily. Doors can be mounted on the left o r right-hand
side. The same hinge works in both configurations, so that this choice can be made in the field. The door open s 180.Cabinets are available in four (4) sizes, A through D. The outside dimensions are noted on each enclosure diagram. "A"
size accommodates one chassis, a power supply, and two 26 AH batteries; "D" size accommodates four chassis, a power
supply, and two 26 AH batteries. A trim ring option is available for semi-flush mounting. The CAB-3/CAB-4 Series is
compatible with multiple chassis including the CHS-M2, CHS-M3, CHS-4, CHS-4L, CHS-4N, CHS-BH, CHS-PS, CA-1,
and CA-2. Note: CAB-4 series backboxes and doors are sold separately.
2 Before You BeginThe option of mounting doors in either a left/right hand configuration
will aid in installation and service when two control panels are
mounted in a confined area or side by side (as shown). In this manner
the doors can be opened "barn door" style, permitting an open work
space. Note that in this type of installation it is necessary to leave
enough space between cabinets to insert a key into the locks on the
door frames.
IMPORTANT:Attach the two hinges and two alignment tabs to the
backbox beforeany equipment is installed. With chassis installed,
space is very limited.
Display Interface Assembly Note: When the door is left-hand
mounted, the Display Interface Assembly (DIA) dress panel cannot be
opened when the door is at less than a 120 angle to the cabinet. If you are using the left-hand mounting option, be sure
that the door can open at least 120. This is especially important if the cabinet is to be mounted in a closed area, such as a
closet or utility room.
3 Door Assembly InstructionsHinges can be either left or right hand mounted. The Illustrations and text depict a left hand mounted example. For a right
hand mounting, simply substitute right for left in the instructions.
1. Insert door hinges (A) into the top and bottom slots of the side to be hinged (in this case the LEFT side). Secure the
hinges to the studs in the backbox with the #8 hex nuts provided. Note that the small hole on the outer tab faces
outward.

2.4 Hardware Installation
Step 1. Install the gatewaymotherboard mounting plate (P/N: 18747) into the gateway cabinet.
Step 2. Install the gateway motherboard onto its mounting plate. The board is attached using the
supplied screws (six).

2.5 Cable Connections
2.5.1 DB-9 to NUP Connection (NFN Gateway-2 to NOTI-FIRE-NET)
The NFN Gateway-2 connects to the NCM-W/F Network Control Module. Use a NCM-W for a
twisted pair wire connection or NCM-F for a fiber-optic cable connection. Make the connection
according to Figure 2.4below:

The NCM-W/F and the NFN Gateway-2 motherboard are installed within the same enclosure.
2.5.2 NFN Gateway-2 Ethernet Connection
The CAT5 Ethernet network cable (P/N: 75585) connects the NFN Gateway-2 to the PNET-1 surge
suppressor; another customer-supplied cable goes from the PNET-1 out to the Ethernet network.
This is the connection that facilitates communication between the NOTI-FIRE-NET network and
ONYXWorks Workstation.

2.6 Power Connection
The power supply for the NFN Gateway-2 is a +24VDC. The NFN Gateway-2 requires +24VDC
@ 330 mA nominal and battery backup in accordance with local code requirements. It can be
powered by any power limited source that is UL listed for use with fire protective signaling units.
Connect the NFN Gateway-2s motherboard to the respective power supply connectors through
properly sized conduit.

Section 3 NFN Gateway-2 Software Installation
This section provides information about installing the ONYXWorks software.
3.1 Install the NFN Gateway Configuration Tool
The NFN Gateway Configuration Tool configures network parameters of the NFN Gateway-2. The
tool is provided on CD-ROM.
Install NFN Gateway Configuration Tool
Step 1. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
If the CD does not automatically run the installation setup, from Windows Explorer or the
Run command, execute setup.exe from the root directory of the CD-ROM.
Doing so will start the install application.
Step 2. Follow the displayed directions to install the NFN Gateway Configuration Tool.
Start the NFN Gateway Configuration Tool
The NFN Gateway Configuration Tool communicates with the NFN Gateway-2 either directly by
connecting a PC to the NFN Gateway-2s serial port (required for first-time configuration), or by
connecting the PC to the second NUP port of an NCM that is on the same network as the NFN
Gateway-2.
1. Click on Start >Programs >VerFire Tools >NFN Gateway Configuration Tool.
2. Enter the communications port that the PC is using for its connection to the NFN
Gateway-2.
When connecting through an NCM, the NFN Gateway-2 node must be specified so the
NFN Gateway Configuration Tool can find it.
When connecting directly, the node may be left as zero.

NOTE: If installing the NFN Gateway-2 as part of an existing ONYXWorks system make sure the
Workstations software key has been upgraded to include NFN Gateway-2 functionality
(ONYXWorks version 1.0 and later).
NOTE: 8888 is always required at the end of the IP address for the NFN Gateway-2 (i.e.
166.100.22.210:8888).

information about the fields in this window see, "NFN Gateway Configuration Field

Configure the NFN Gateway-2 with the Workstation, on page 21.
NFN Gateway Configuration Field Descriptions
NCM Configuration
The Node field is the node number you will use in connecting to NOTI-FIRE-NET network. If the
configuration tool is connected through an NCM, the node number may not be changed; to change
the node number, exit the configuration tool by pressing Cancel, then connect the PC directly to the
NFN Gateway-2 serial port and run the configuration tool again.
The Threshold and Style 7 settings are standard NCM settings; refer to NCM documentation for an
explanation of these fields.
IP Configuration
These settings configure various IP parameters for use in connecting a browser.
IP for connection to NFN Gateway Sets the actual IP address where the NFN Gateway-2 will
be located. The user will type this address into a browser in order to establish a connection with the
NFN Gateway-2. Note that if the NFN Gateway-2 is to be used on the internet, you may need to
independently set up a router and/or fire-wall so the internet based applications can locate and
access the NFN Gateway-2. Contact your MIS department for details. To actually connect to the
NFN Gateway-2, you must use TCP/IP port 8888; for example, if the NFN Gateway-2 is located at
10.4.2.1, one would type the following into the browser window to connect to the NFN Gateway-2:

IP address Serves a two-fold purpose: it is used for the Workstation, and it is used for NFN
Gateway-2 configuration through your browser.
IP for routing back to Internet Sets the IP of a router that the NFN Gateway-2 can use to
locate the browser with which it is communicating. This simply sets a path for the NFN Gateway-
2 to use to communicate back with the connecting browser.
Subnet Mask s the IP sub-net mask that the NFN Gateway-2 should use to determine whether a
connection came from a local network, or should be routed on to another network (see previous
setting). All of the IP settings for the NFN Gateway-2 must be on the same sub-net for
communications to be established between the NFN Gateway-2 and a browser.

3.2 Start the NFN Gateway-2 Application
The Serial Configuration Tool is used to initially configure the NFN Gateway-2 to communicate
with NOTI-FIRE-NET network. See Section 3.1, Install the NFN Gateway Configuration Tool,
on page 17for installation information.
Start the NFN Gateway-2 Application
Step 1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer
Step 2. Type the IP address of the NFN Gateway-2 into the Address field and press the enter key.
A prompting window similar to the following figure will display.

The User Name admin cannot be renamed or deleted.
Step 4. Type 00000 in the Password field.
For system security, this default password admin should be changed by the system
administrator for system security.

Step 1. On the main web page, click on Password Settings at the list on the left.
Step 2. Once you are on the Password Settings web page, delete the asterisks that denote the
current password, type in the new password.

updated with the newly configured NFN Gateway-2

Gateway-2 will appear in the list with a status of green to denote that it is communicating
with the Workstation.

The NFN Gateway-2 interface is a html page type format that displays configuration information
about the NOTI-FIRE-NET network, the NFN Gateway-2, its password settings, node mapping on
the network, version information and network statistics. It also allows the user to change some of
these configuration settings.
The home page layout consists of a:
Menu column which is an Windows Explorer-style collapsible/expandable navigation tree.
Property/Value column where data is displayed about the selection chosen in the Menu
column.

Site Name- A user defined field used to enter a unique descriptive name for the NFN Gateway-2
browser.
General Settings
Trouble Reminder- If Yes, there is an active trouble on the network, every 24 hours at 11:00 AM,
a trouble reminder message will be generated across the network.
NCM Settings
Node Address- The number of NCM node on the NOTI-FIRE-NET network.
Channel A/B Threshold - The Threshold settings are used according to the amount of network
noise present; changing the threshold settings will initialize the NCM board itself.
Style 7- Select Yes if style 7 is being used.
IP Settings
IP Address- The NFN Gateway-2 IP address on the system.
Subnet Mask- This is the IP subnet mask that the NFN Gateway-2 uses to determine whether a
connection came from a local network or was routed on to another network.
Gateway- The NFN Gateway-2 IP address on the Internet.

Gateway Address- The location of the NFN Gateway-2, valid settings are between 1 and 99.
Gateway Timeout- This entry sets time (in seconds) the NFN Gateway-2 will wait before retry
attempts. Valid settings are 1 - 60. The default value is five seconds.
Gateway Retries- This value sets the number of NFN Gateway-2 retry attempts that will be made.

4.8 Viewing or Changing Node Mapping
Node Mapping allows the user to map nodes that are active on the NOTI-FIRE-NET network to the
NFN Gateway-2. Node mapping is similar to filtering in that if a node is mapped in the NFN
Gateway-2, then the Workstation will communicate with that node. If a node is not mapped, then
ONYXWorks Workstation will not receive events from nor send commands to that node.
Click on Auto Detect to have the NFN Gateway-2 search out all nodes on the network and
determine whether they are online/offline. The Auto Detect command will mark all online nodes
as mapped and all offline nodes as unmapped.
If Unmapped, the NFN Gateway-2 will not display statistics for that node. You will not see events
or properties from any new nodes until they are mapped from this page.

Node Status Values
Online- The node was auto detected by the NFN Gateway-2, but it will not communicate
with ONYXWorks Workstation until it is mapped.
Offline- There is no device detected at that node address. No events will be reported.
Mapped- If the node is online, it will be accessible through ONYXWorks Workstation.
Unmapped- The default value; the node is either online but not communicating with
ONYXWorks Workstation, or there is no device detected at that node address. No events
or properties will be displayed for unmapped nodes.

Section 5 ONYXWorks Workstation Operation
The ONYXWorks provides communication between NOTI-FIRE-NET devices and the
ONYXWorks system. When an event occurs on a NOTI-FIRE-NET network being monitored
by NFN Gateway-2, the event displays in the New Events area on the Workstations display. Each
NOTI-FIRE-NET device is recognized by its own unique device ID on the Workstations display.
Commands specific to the device type can be sent to the NOTI-FIRE-NET devices.
5.1 NFN Gateway-2 Event Handling
When the NFN Gateway-2 is installed, configured, and communicating with the Workstation and a
NOTI-FIRE-NET device, the Workstation will be able to receive events and send commands to
those devices.
The ONYXWorks Workstation uses the NFN Gateway-2 as the server in a client/server model.
New events sent through the NFN Gateway-2 to devices will auto-create their associated device
icon on a Workstation device screen associated with the NFN Gateway-2. For more information
concerning event handling, refer to the ONYXWorks Workstation manual.
5.2 NFN Gateway-2 Commands for NOTI-FIRE-NET Devices
Commands that are sent to NOTI-FIRE-NET devices from the Workstation through the NFN
Gateway-2 can be different from or in common with other devices. Workstation commands are
sent to a NOTI-FIRE-NET device when the devices icon is right-clicked on and a command choice
is selected. The following list provides information about some of those NOTI-FIRE-NET devices
commands.
Acknowledge- Sends a point acknowledge to the associated node.
If the event is a Fire Alarm, it is a point acknowledge, and in the case of all other events, a
block acknowledge is sent.
Silence- Sends a silence command to the associated node.
Reset- Sends a reset command to the associated node.

Network Explorer- Opens Network Explorer window for the NFN Gateway-2. See
Section 5.3, Network Explorer for NFN Gateway-2, on page 36for information.
NOTE: For ULC applications, the Internet cannot be used for either primary or ancillary
functionality. When the Internet is used for primary signaling of UL listed applications, the
Workstation is to be used for monitoring purposes only. The Workstation cannot have any control
over the activities of FACPs on the network monitoring system.

5.3 Network Explorer for NFN Gateway-2
The Network Explorer for NFN Gateway-2 (Network Explorer window) displays information
about all the nodes on the NOTI-FIRE-NET network being monitored by the NFN Gateway-2. The
Network Explorer window operates similar to Microsofts Windows Explorer.

Panels tree- Displays the nodes on the NOTI-FIRE-NET network in expandable/collapsible
structure.
Property and Value (data display)- Displays the Property and Value of the device highlighted in
the Panels tree. Entries in the Property column that display an asterisk (*) can be edited. Click on
the Value field adjacent to the Properties entry to change the value.
Object field- Displays the path to the device currently highlighted in the Panels tree.

5.3.1 Displaying Properties in the Network Explorer for NFN
Gateway-2
The Network Explorer window displays information through its expandable Panels tree down to
the point level. Click on a node in the Panels tree to view its general properties. Entries in the
Property column that display an asterisk (*) can be edited. Click on the Value field adjacent to the
Properties entry to change the value.
A fire panel shown in the Panels tree can be expanded to reveal the device level. Figure 5.6showsa highlighted detector device and its properties.

Limited Warranty
Honeywell warrants its products to be free from defects inmaterials and workmanship for eighteen (18) months from the dateof manufacture, under normal use and service. Products are datestamped at time of manufacture. The sole and exclusive obligationof Honeywellis to repair or replace, at its option, free of charge forparts and labor, any part which is defective in materials orworkmanship under normal use and service.
