Joey’s Graduation
On Thursday, our Joey’s friends graduated in a very special
ceremony that parents and carers were invited to watch. See
page 10 of this newsletter for photos. This week they begin their
formal Kindergarten orientation program with Miss Howard, which
will go for 3 sessions.
Parents of our 2018 Kinders are invited to stay for sessions 2 and
3 to find out about school life including uniforms, healthy
lunchboxes, P&C, L3 and PBL. The parent information sessions will be held in the library.
STAR Student Badge Assembly.
This Thursday is our STAR Student badge Assembly. This is a
special even to recognise those students who have consistently
displayed the values of Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best
throughout the year. Parents are Carers are invited to attend the
assembly, which is being held on Thursday 16th November at
2.30pm under the COLA.
Presentation Day
An important date to mark on your calendar is Presentation Day. This year Presentation
Day will be held on Friday 8th December, commencing at 9.15am.
Every student will receive a certificate of merit for an area of the curriculum that they have
made progress in throughout the year. Three students from each class will also be
recognised for their academic achievement, consistent effort and citizenship.
Students will also receive their Semester 2 report on Presentation Day.
2018 Classes
At this time of year we have begun to look at classes for
2018. It is hoped that we are able to keep the 7 class
structure that we currently have in order to keep the class
sizes smaller. At this stage, only Kindergarten has been
assigned a teacher due to the changing nature of enrolments.
Not returning in 2018
If you know you are definitely not returning to Tarro PS in 2018, please let the office know
so that we have accurate numbers to work with when putting classes together.
School Party day
Party Day is being held on Tuesday 12th December. At this stage,
nothing has been finalised in terms of activities, however the
staff are working hard to come up with some great ideas to
celebrate the end of the year. More information regarding Party
Day will be sent home closer to the date.

Parking before and after school.
Just a reminder that the red ‘No Standing’ signs
and yellow lines painted on the gutter indicate
you are not allowed to park your car in that area.
We have recently had several complaints from
residents regarding parents parking their cars
illegally when dropping off or collecting children.
The signs and yellowing markings are there to keep everyone safe
and visibility high on what is a very busy road both mornings and
afternoons. Your co-operation in helping keep our kids safe is
greatly appreciated.

Magic Show
WOW! What an experience the magic
show was. Kindergarten and Year 1 had
a fantastic time being amazed at the
magic show on Thursday. Favourites
included the girl hiding in a basket and
then knives being put through the
basket- but don't worry she was okay
and came out unharmed! There was
even a duck that disappeared on stage
and reappeared in a basket being held by a member of the
audience. Even two of our own students were stars, assisting a
mad scientist who was finding lights all over Toby and Ashlee
before floating them away! They all demonstrated wonderful
Tarro manners for the entire excursion.
PBL News Positive Behaviour for Learning
This week Tarro is holding it's first
annual Star Student Badge Assembly
where students who have earned their
'Respect', 'Responsibility' and 'Personal
Best' awards and have not received
more than 4 red or orange forms or
suspensions will be awarded their Star
Student Badges. We hope you can join
us on Thursday at 2:30pm to see the
students given these badges, awards and their lunch token for a
BBQ Lunch on Friday.
Also on Friday, the teachers are holding a special FIT- Friday
Incentive Time, where students cash in their 'Bright Stars' for a
variety of exciting activities. Please pack students their regular
lunch as the BBQ will be during Recess.
A BIG Thank You To Beresfield Hot Bread Shop for donating bread to our
breakfast club every week and to Kevin Bunt for being kind
enough to deliver it to school.

SPORTS NEWS Maitland League Tag Gala Day 2017
Tarro Public School students have been extended an invitation to
participate in the Maitland League Tag Gala Day on Tuesday 14th
November 2017. The day is aimed at participation and fun in a
non-competitive environment. Thanks to the NRL, each
participating player will also receive giveaways on the day.
The 8-a-side competition will be held at Maitland Park Touch
Fields. Tarro PS will be represented by both a girls and boys tag
side and we wish them all the best of luck.
Handball Competition
Congratulations to our handball champions for 2017. It was a
fantastic effort by all students that participated with great
sportsmanship, positivity and lots of fun achieved by all.
Swim School
All students participating at swim school over the last week have
enjoyed their time at the pool, with great improvements already
evident. The last day of swim school is Friday 17th November and
on this day students will have a chance to buy food from the pool
kiosk as a reward for their efforts.
See photos on page 9 of this newsletter.
Library News Due to the delay in our hall being delivered, there will be no
borrowing for the remainder of Term4. Returns can be made any
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, to the office.
