Volume 6 Issue 6 28 May 2020 Newsletter
From The Principal’s Desk
Dear Parents,
As you may be aware from the previous Connect notice, the Minister for Education and our Department of Education
Director General announced last week that all children are expected back to school except if they have a medical
exemption. All medical exemptions to be directed to the Principal. Parents will be further supported by the SSEND team
as required.
Thirty six additional officers have been appointed in Regional Offices across the state to help get students back to
school.
The following measures remain in place:
Social distancing for staff and adults remains.
Cleaning throughout the school day continues in our school.
Handwashing and sanitising directions remain unchanged.
Our School Board can recommence with social distancing.
Case Management Meetings have resumed with social distancing.
Therapists are now permitted back on school site
(inclusive of our Curtin Speech and Language Team).
School sport may now resume – NO contact games.
Interschool Sport is not yet permitted.
No camps etc.
Staff Meetings – we are currently using WebEx at our school to support social distancing instructions.
We continue to minimise social mixing in classrooms where possible .
Reporting – the semester one reports will not look the same. A note accompanying the reports will provide you
with information and reasons. It is expected that the semester two report will be provided as usual.
Library – weeks 4&5
While library sessions have been suspended, book borrowing in small groups continue.
Please note the health advice that if your child is sick in any way – stay home for the safety of us all.
I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating – we have a truly great community and an amazing staff who do amazing
work!
