2010 QUEEN PAGEANT FACT SHEET
DETAILS: This year’s pageant features 45 exceptional young women
from all over Stark County, competing for the crown as 2010
Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Queen.
The 2010 Queen Pageant includes contestants from: Akron,
Alliance, Canton, Hartville, Homeworth, Louisville, Massillon, North Canton, North Lawrence and Waynesburg.
ATTENDANCE: More than 1,000 attendees will file into the Palace Theatre on Thursday, May 13, at 7 p.m. to enjoy the area’s premier
pageant.
ELIGIBILITY AND
SELECTION PROCESS: Each year, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival chooses a Queen and the number of Court Members to coincide
with the number of the new class of Enshrinees who will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Queen and Court Members
are chosen on the basis of personality, poise, beauty, communication skills, academic achievement and service to
community.
Eligible contestants are between the ages of 18 and 23, must
reside and, if employed, work within a 30-mile radius of Canton. Candidates must be free to appear as the Queen or as a member of the Court from May 14 to September 1, 2010, and
then until such a time as the 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Queen is crowned.
QUEEN AND COURT RESPONSIBILITIES: The Queen and Court serve as role models and ambassadors
for the Stark County community, and participate in activities with local civic organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Turnaround Community Outreach Center, Stark MRDD and many
more. Most importantly, the Queen and Court are expected to join in promoting the welfare of our community and stressing
to others the importance of volunteerism.
The Queen and her Court also greet a great many guests at the
18 events throughout the 11-day Enshrinement Festival, attended by more than 700,000 people. One of the most
memorable experiences for the Queen and Court is their ride on the float in the nationally televised Timken Grand Parade.
CONTESTANT PRIZES: In addition to the prestige of being crowned 2010 Queen of the Enshrinement Festival Pageant, the Queen has the opportunity to receive two scholarships. If the Queen chooses
not to receive these scholarships, they are then offered to the Court Members on a lottery basis. The Queen and her court
keep all of the outfits worn throughout the Enshrinement Festival, and they receive many gift cards from area restaurants, and gift bags and services from area spas.

Participants will have the opportunity to review the 2009 Queen Pageant DVD, learn about the judging experience from past years’ judges, hear from a past queen who will share her memories and ask questions about the process.
This informative, informal session is free, but reservations must be made in advance by calling Tonya Stuck, event manager, at (330) 458-2052. The Queen Pageant will take place Thursday, May 13, at The Canton Palace Theatre. The Queen and her court will serve as role models and goodwill ambassadors throughout the community, and one of their most memorable experiences will be their ride on a float in the Enshrinement Festival Timken Grand Parade. Seven court members will be selected, coinciding with the number in the 2010 Class of Enshrinees, including Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little, John Randle, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith.
