Due to some delay in receiving reports and the difficulties of reducing the volume of very interesting mater ia l to the necessary s ize , i t has been necessary to postpone until Number 4 the annual FIELD SEASON SUMMARY, fo r the 1960 season. This was originally scheduled for this i ssue , No. 3" Instead, al l the Notices a r e being given now and this section will probably be omitted f rom the SUMMARY issue so that al l available space can be used for the reports .

The Editor i s using this way of informing members who have sent in notes which have not appeared in the News , that some of the these notes a r e of more permanent nature and have been sent either to C .L. Remington fo r use in the - Journal, o r to Fred Thorne for use in the "Collector's " section of the Journal. They have not been ignored!

Ring Card4 , of Farmington, Gann. , says he operated "black lights" l a s t yea r , within a mile of s ix t raps erected by business establishments to combat insects . The "take" a t his black lights seemed not .<, be affected, a t leas t not appreciably.
