Introduction.
Welcome to Mackay State High School
Principal’s Welcome
Congratulations on your appointment and welcome to our staff team at Mackay State High School. Whether a graduate, transferee or temporary contracted teacher, you as a staff member, are one of our most valued assets, in the education of our students and communication with their families. Your unique skills and abilities will add to the array of talents here at Mackay State High, to assist and direct our students to achieve their High Performance targets. This is best achieved through your successful orientation through the Induction Program and support from your appointed Associate Mentor. Our Quality Teaching Pedagogical Framework is a key to the classroom performance, while our focus is always to build clear and consistent expectations as you develop a positive learning relationship with the members of your class. Your engagement in the Professional Learning Teams, to grow your performance as a highly effective teacher and share your talents, will be an opportunity during this year. I look forward to working with you to provide the best quality educational, social and cultural outcomes for our students. Yours sincerely

The aim of this practice is to monitor and encourage High Quality Teaching and Consistency in regards to the school’s Pedagogical Framework. They also observe student engagement and the implementation of Bookwork / IT protocols. These visits will typically be 10 min in duration, will typically cover three classes and may involve the HOD as well as the Administration Member. The schedule of faculty visits is published ahead of each week but the choice of classes is typically up to the HOD. The visiting Administration Member will write formal feedback and provide this to the HOD. This is then discussed at Faculty Meetings.
