Witness the exceptional interaction
between man and nature, where the lives
o hunters in small isolated communities
are relected in the language, music,
myths, clothing and ood. We visit small
settlements not oten seen by tourists,
some o them only reachable by Polarcirkel
boat. The spectacular scenery and the
Midnight Sun provide a stunning backdrop
to the voyages.
We oer voyages that go beyond the
realms o other cruise lines, providing closer
encounters and expertise on journeys
that will exceed your expectations.
Come with us to Greenland where the natural
beauty is only matched by the diversity of
its wilderness, inhabitants, ora and auna.
To urther enhance your experience, our
Expedition Team will give presentations and
lectures on the history, biology and geology

The Expedition Team consists o experts
rom numerous ields and backgrounds
including ornithologists, mammalogists,
historians and geologists, and they are
always happy to answer your questions.
Together with the crew they will make your
time on board and the landings we make
extra-special.

Kangerlussuaq, the main gateway to
Greenland. We will explore this area beore
joining MS Fram. The inormal atmosphere
on board always encourages conversationsand the sharing o expectations or the
coming journey. When we reach Sisimiut
we recommend a visit to the Sisimiut
Museum, a local institution specialising on
Greenlandic trade, industry and shipping.
You can also join a var iety o optional
excursions, like hikes or various abilities,
a boat trip to Assaqutaq, a sightseeing
tour by bus and a meal with Greenlandic
specialities in a local restaurant.

Once we reach the old volcanic islando Disko, you will see the town o
Qeqertarsuaq with its colourul houses.
The town is set in wonderul surroundings
at the foot of impressive basalt mountains.A walk through Qeqertarsuaq gives a
vivid impression o the hunters society.
Frams Expedition Team will also take you
on a guided walk to Blsedalen. I you
want to learn more about life in Greenlandyou can join our optional excursion which
includes a town walk with a local guide, or
i conditions allow it, go kayaking with ourExpedition Team or take the optional ice
cruising boat tour.
Qasigiannguit, Pearl of the Disko Bay, isthe second oldest town in Greenland and
was ounded in 1734. The oldest house is
still in use, and archaeology- and history
bus should deinitely pay a visit to the
local museum. Explore the settlement on
your own, or join the excursion, which
includes a settlement walk, entrance to
museums and a visit to the church.
As we sail urther north, you will get an
introduction to the charming town o
Uummannaq. The town itsel is situated
in scenic surroundings at the oot o the
1,170m heart-shaped mountain rom which
the town takes its name. The displays in
the town museum include replicas o
the amous Qilakitsoq mummies and
collections o traditional arts and crats.
I you are eeling it, you can join the
Expedition Team on a hike along the
mountain to Santas Hut or meet one othe locals and hear about everyday lie in
Greenland. Another alternative is to take
our boat excursion that includes a landing
at Qilakitsoq where the mummies rom
the Thule era were ound. When we arrive
in Ukkusissat, the locals will come aboard
to entertain us with traditional songs and
dances beore proudly welcoming us to
their village. Once ashore you may stroll
around on your own.

Illorsuit lies at the mouth of the UummannaqFjord. There are only 90 people living in
this settlement. It is a traditional hunting
and fshing community, and you are likely to
see whale meat and fsh drying on the ront
porch right next to the laundry on

We will try to get as far north as Uparnavik at N72 47 and W 56 10 in the Melville Bay

several o the houses. It is a place rarely
visited by tourists, so we are probably asmuch an attraction to the locals as their
village is to us.
Later we will use our Polarcirkel boats to
land in Illorsuit to visit this settlement.Upernavik is where the locals migrate to inspring to take advantage o the rich hunting
grounds or centuries. The settlement liesat N72 47 and W 56 10 in Melville Bay in
northwest Greenland. The worlds northern-
most open-air museum is well worth a visit.
Many o the locals still go hunting and fshing,
so keep your eyes open or a polar bearskin or sealskin when walking through town.
Arriving in Qullissat we use our Polarcirkel
boats to go ashore. Enjoy a walk throughthe settlement on your own.

This journey oers numerous highlights
and i the ice conditions allow it, one o
them is enjoying the views o the Eqip
Sermia glacier. Here you will have an
outstanding opportunity to experience
glaciers frst-hand and sense the greatness
o their nature. Ilulissat means icebergsin Greenlandic and the Ilulissat Icejord
was inscribed to the UNESCOs list o
World Heritage Sites in 2004. The foating
icebergs are like massive individual
sculptures with colours varying depending
on the light. Our shore excursions include
hikes and a boat tour to the ice jord. The next morning we head towards the
Oqaatsut area where we hope to do somelandings and activities beore we start
the scenic voyage south to the Itilleq.
Oqaatsut is a charming settlement, with
its own school, church and a small grocerystore. Locals also call the settlement
Rdebugt, or Red Bay reerring to
the whaling the area was known or.
Enjoy an introduction to this small
Greenlandic settlement, where modern
amenities like the internet go hand in hand
with old traditions.
When we reach the small settlement o
Itilleq you will be invited or a kaemik
by the locals in their home. Aterwards
you can enjoy the traditional soccer game
between MS Frams crew and guests, and
the locals of Itilleq.
When we reach Kangerlussuaq again,
we see the end o this magniicent
journey. Ater disembarkation you fy back
to Copenhagen.
Both voyages vary in their length o stay in
Ilulissat and the overnight in Copenhagen. For prices
and more detailed inormation see back page.
The route described here is only indicative. Based on
the weather and ice conditions at the time, the fnal
itinerary will be presented ater embarkation.
