Stewardship as a Way of Life
Stewardship is the way to live our lives by answering the call received in our
Baptism and realizing that all we have is gift from God. Stewards are asked to
accept these gifts with grateful hearts, develop these gifts, and with a spirit
of generosity, share them with others.
Stewardship as a way of life is more than giving a few moments of spare time
or some spare change to someone in need. It is truly a journey of discovery
and conversion starting with the individual who asks, “Who am I? Why am I
here? Where am I going? What can I do to make a difference? How am I called
by God?” As more and more individual stewards reach out to one another,
the entire community of faith can be transformed, and together we can
build vibrant and engaged parishes embracing Stewardship as a Way of Life.
The Archdiocesan Stewardship Conference is a forum which provides speakers,
discussion, and resources that will educate and motivate attendees to start or
continue on their own journey of Stewardship as a Way of Life.
The conference is open to pastors, priests, religious, parish staff and leadership,
and individuals in parishes who desire to:
• Learn more about Stewardship as a Way of Life
• Discover practices that will work well in their own parish environment
• Develop relationships with and find resources from conference sponsors
• Network with other area Catholics
The 2011 Stewardship Conference is sponsored by: The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis

Disciples who practice stewardship recognize God as the origin of life, the giver of freedom, the
source of all they have and are and will be. They know themselves to be recipients and caretakers
of God’s many gifts… They are grateful for what they have received and eager to cultivate their
gifts out of love for God and one another. –Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
