I wanted to do something to help after the Queensland floods so this poster was aimed at maintaining awareness and to boost donations. The idea was always very minimal though the use of colour changed significantly as I wanted something more upbeat.
Woods PanthersNetball Foundation

I wanted to draw attention towards the charitable nature of the club as well as maintaining an edge to the brand. With the logo I emphasised growth by symbolising a wiled plant that both represented the nurturing side of the foundation as well as keeping a wiled side.
I played with this idea of a wiled side running throughout the brand by utilising a torn paper effect that allowed me to differentiate between the chaotic markings and the safe typography.

This is how the brand will integrate across a familiar club environment in a fun way while in keeping with the brand.

I toned down the chaos of the markings to not overload the user while taking the sights content. I aimed to bring order to the navigation and float key elements like the ‘Headline’ and ‘Calendar’ so it’s always accessible.
I was really interested in the progress on the rail infrastructure so this appealed to me, I wanted to do something new compared to all the generic brochures that we are use to . The concept of showing off elements of the grid really appealed to me as it allowed me to demonstrate progress and give the public a level of transparency.

I wanted to focus on legibility while not adding any additional pages or overcomplicating the layout.

I challenged myself to completely avoid photography and to play with vector shapes as I was using a lot of photography at the time. This concept came to me while I was cleaning and came across a broken pen.
Category - Branding Description - Fresh branding for “venue-tix”
The aim was to take intocount the diverse market of venue-tix’s with it’s wide range of interests so I wanted to create a very broad brand. I started to consider the venues as something organic, so in a way they are an environment we shape ourselves.
I hinted at this with the negative space I created in the logo and it is symbolic of how the space is open to interpretation. I played with the idea of space throughout the brand with the playful use of shapes and negative space.

I wanted to bring back the excitement while cleaning up the layout with thoughtful typography.
I wanted to really embrace the brand when it came to retail stores and push the familiarity of the shapes while having some fun.
Category - Signage Description - A shop interior
My aim was to simplify the interface and turn the website into a user friendly environment that was as complex as it needed to be, allowing the content to come first.

I built this brand around the frays Cork Tease that means “A person who loves to talk about the wine he or she will open, but never does.”.
This concept of containment yet wanting to show off was an interesting challenge so I decided on visually trapping the type under an illustrative cork that contrasted the typography.

This project was born out of a desire to work with a lot of type and I found the concept of a book on Copyright sparked a lot of unique ideas.
Category - A5 Book Description - A 40 page book on chapter 3 of the 1968 copyright act
The concept that drove this book was ‘interpretation’ and this was represented by warping and manipulating symbols like the copyright logo on the scanner.
This produced a design that flows and evolves like an idea throughout the book.

This is a poster I promised to myself I’d make after I lost some important work and photos after not backing up, so I needed to create something positive that might be helpful. I chose to work around a photo at the beach so it would be familiar yet not too distracting.
When image files where brought into a text editor you can manually corrupt the file to create something interesting. The result was not as dramatic as I would have liked so I settled for distorting the colours in photoshop.
school of the air
Category - Branding Description - Branding for “School of the Air”
I love the name ‘School of the Air’ and it and I knew I could have a lot of fun as it evokes lots of ideas.
During my research I found a quote, I wanted to represent that connection and after many variations this abstract method perfeactly represented the unique nature of the school. The flowing lines represent the impact you can make on someone as you cross paths and meet new people.
“As much as the technology has progressed the thing of greatest importance to the school is its sense of community. The different technologies are one element in ensuring that all members of our school community experience a sense of belonging”.

The idea of making a concertina folding brochure fitted in perfectly with the concept of connection and it was a bit of fun.

I wanted this website to be useful to the students but not compete against social media so I focused on being able to log on and rehash lessons. I incorporated a way for students to chat with teachers to get further help as well as include subtle social media aspects to connect with your friends.
