A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE" by Bud Ozar
Today’s Gospel is so familiar, it hurts ! The home town folks
could not accept the presence of God in Jesus. After all, they
had watched Him grow up. We can easily make the same mis-
take if we do not see God present in the ordinary routines of our
family. “The Lord be with you” is a statement of fact.
Believe it...Live it.

Scripture Study: We will be continuing our Adult Scripture
Study on Thursday evenings at 7 PM at St. Joan of Arc Parish
Center. Our new study will beEucharist, another offering from
the Threshold Bible Study series."You are invited to explore the
biblical springs of the Eucharist. Through this exploration, you
will enrich your understanding of this sacrament and deepen your
appreciation of the great gift it is. Through texts from the Old
Testament, the Gospels, and New Testament letters, you will
discover that the Eucharist unites the prayers, works, joys, and
sufferings of our lives as an offering in union with Christ.
Through meditation on these texts, you will learn to cultivate a
Eucharistic life of prayer and active commitment in the
world." Our study will begin on Thursday, July 26th. Please
contact Donna Yatcko, 203.248.6958, by July 8th to register.

We have an Automated External Defilrillator !!
In case of an emergency, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church now
has an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The AED and its
holding case were donated by the “In a Heartbeat” Organization.
It was presented to Father Dolan and Program members on
Wednesday June 13, 2018. The AED is located in the front of the
church to the right of the Altar just before the entrance to the Sac-
risty. In case of an emergency the AED is easily accessible, please
note an alarm will sound when the AED’s case door is opened.
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that
checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart
to try to restore normal function. AEDs are used to treat sudden
cardiac arrest (SCA). SCA is a condition in which the heart sud-
denly and unexpectedly stops beating. The AED is user friendly
and verbally guides the user through the process. A special thank
you to the “In a Heartbeat “Organization especially Mike Papale
and Sara Civitello for this generous donation.
