Principal’s note Wednesday, Sept. 25th
Peachjar is the leader in digital flyer management systems used by U.S. school districts, some of the
most demanding customers in the world. ... School districts streamline their flyer operations, save
significantly on touch labor and increase the effectiveness of the flyers reaching their intended
audience, the parents.
Peachjar is a new program that the school district has rolled out this year. Instead of sending your
child home with a lot of flyers in their back, the flyers will be posted through Peachjar online or
through the Peachjar app.
Do I need a login to view digital flyers?
No, digital flyers will be delivered directly to your email. If you wish to see more
information on a digital flyer in your inbox, simply click on the desired flyer. You can also
access your school's Peachjar page by clicking the Peachjar button on your school's
website. The link to look at fliers through the Finch website looks like this
I want to receive digital flyers but nothing is being sent to me. How can I sign up?
First, verify that your school is using Peachjar by searching our school finder. If your school is using
Peachjar and you have not received a welcome email, you can register on Peachjar’s website.
If you have any questions please contact Peachjar at (858) 997-2117
or the district at 354-5900
Question: What does a writing teacher eat for breakfast?

Finch Elementary Tardy Policy We at Finch Elementary want to help prepare our students for success in academics
and in life after school. Research has shown attendance to be an excellent indicator of
such success as it instills good habits of responsibility and timeliness. As an
encouragement for our Finch students, we recognize students each month and
semester for perfect attendance. We also have a policy in place that provides a chance
for students to give back time they have missed in an after school setting.
A student will receive one after school detention for every tardy they have after 10 in a
semester. For example, a student receiving his/her 11th tardy will receive an after
school detention. Then if they have a 12th tardy the next day, week, or month, they will
receive another after school detention. This process will continue until the end of the
semester
Every semester will have all students return to zero and begin a fresh start.
• Excused tardies are not counted against the student. Excused tardies are
distinguished as a medical appointment and excused with a note from the
appointment. Tardies caused by inclement weather will be determined by school
officials as excused or unexcused.
• Attendance will be done everyday at 8:35 with the expectation that all students are
inside their classroom at that time. Being in the hallway or at the lockers at 8:35
would constitute the teacher marking a student tardy. This is to help relieve the
time and crowd crunch of getting into the building and putting things away out in
lockers.
Every day a student is absent is a lost opportunity for learning.
• Students can still fall behind if they miss even just a day or two every few weeks.
• By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that a student may drop out of high school.
• By 9th grade, regular and high attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
Attendance is an important life skill that will help your child graduate from college and keep a job. Every day matters!
