What is Protest Music?

• Music during the 1960’s was very unique compared to music from other time periods.

• Protest music - around for a very long time but became extremely popular in the 1960’s.

• The goal of protest was to inspire people to make a change in a multitude of issue during the 60’s.

• Mainly it was as simple as a song about injustices concerning the U.S.
