Conservation of Biodiversity and Sustainable Land use Management - Dragash
2013-2023 Municipal Development Plan
4
One main element within the UNDP project “Conservation of Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use Management in Dragash/ Dragaš” was to elaborate the “Sustainable Development Atlas (SDA) – Framework for a comprehensive and balanced rural development for the Municipality of Dragash/Dragaš”. The “Sustainable Development Atlas” contains 43 maps and a report which provides further details on its data.
The preparation of the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) has been done in parallel with the SDA. Analytical maps of the SDA provided an elementary baseline for the preparation of the MDP. Assessment and guidance maps have been produced in cooperation.
Part III of the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) contains all the maps, which were prepared to illustrate the findings of the MDP. The Baseline Maps are related to the Profile in MDP Part I, demonstrate the analysis of the municipal’s assets, mainly the physical ones. The Baseline Maps contain the base data of the Municipality at the date of survey. This means, that there could have been some changes since the baseline study in 2011, which are not included in the Baseline Maps.
The Assessment maps show the assessments of the municipal’s assets, which were made as a first step within the planning process. The Assessment maps demonstrate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the fields of natural and social resources in Dragash/Dragaš. These were also described within Part I of the MDP.
The Guidance Maps highlight the strategies and measures, which are described in MDP Part II. The planned spatial development in Dragash/Dragaš is explained within the text, while the maps show the location of the planned measures and the areas of development and protection. Beside the sectoral Guidance Maps there are also two Integrated Guidance Maps. IG1 shows an abstract of the Assessment Maps related to spatial development and illustrates the sensitiveness of the municipality’s area. The map IG2 shows the conclusion, which were drawn from that – identifying zones of protection, extensive and intensive development. The map IG2 contains different fields of development and gives a résumé of the sectoral Guidance Maps.
