In 2000 a study by Software and Information Industry Association
reviewed 311 research studies on the effectiveness of technology on
student achievement
Findings
Revealed positive and consistent patterns when students were
engaged in technology rich environments, including significant
gains, and achievement in all subject areas.Increased achievement
in pre-k to high schoolin regular and special needs students, and
improved attitudes toward learning and increased self esteem.

5. In 2009, the Marzano Research Laboratory conducted a study that
involved 85 teachers and 170 classrooms. They found that three
features included in the use of interactive whiteboards had a
significant relationship with student achievement. (Marzano
2009).
This study also emphasized that this powerful tool, the interactive
whiteboard, must be used with good classroom practice. We cannot
assume that just by turning it on, student achievement will
happen.
