Gaddafi as a Dictator
Libya as a country has become a violent land because Libyan citizens are
threatened by theirown leader.
There are gangs who are shooting opposes with dangerous weapons.
He tried to merge/unite all African countries by creating the Islamic Legion
as a tool to unify and Arabize the region.
Gaddafi can be considered as a selfish leader because his own words
states that he wont get down from power while he is alive and calls his
revolution as Libyan Arab Republic .
He doesnt allow the people of Libya to vote democratically and thus
staying in power forever.

Aristotles Virtue The
ory
Ethics is a study that should be done in systems. When a person follows the
systemic study of how best a human should live they would grow up to be
ethical.
According to Aristotle ethical knowledge should not be only in theory it should
be implemented. So, Kaddafi in order to be virtuous he should start living as one
instead of just reading about virtue. But being the leader he is it would be hard for
him to change his ways.
Everything a human does should always point to some good. But when we
observe Gaddafi ways he is not working towards showing happiness to peopleinstead he is progressing towards his own happiness of staying in the seat until he
dies. He is doing no good and as a result there would be no virtue.
Some actions and emotions provide wrong kind of happiness and happiness
through practicing that kind of virtue is wrong and cannot be considered ethical at
all.

Aristotles Virtue The
ory
Aristotle does not consider actions as immoral or unethical he considers
the perso
n behind the actio
n as moral
or unethical.
A person who is highly moral and ethical would consider making good use
of the military he has but Instead Gaddafi is mass murdering and killing
people for his own will of staying in power.
He is not only killing people against him but he is also asking people to go
against anyone whooppose his regime.
He has never apologized or felt sorry for what he has done and he has
done everything for pure selfish reasons.
He has never been virtuous or never tried to act virtuous
So we would name him as an unethical and immoral leader who should not
be in power as per Aristotles Virtue Theory.

Mills Utilitarianism
Most people should be happy with the outcome of our actions. These
actions should be able to produce more happiness to more number ofpeople and when a person does this he is highly ethical and true to
his moral.
Gaddafi is happy and others are all in turmoil and this is due to his fulfilling
selfish motive.
He not only scares the people of Libya but he scares the whole world thus
making many not happy.
The most important thing in utilitarianism is the consequences of the action.
The consequences of his actions are really bad and its diminishing peoples
happiness.
There is no good done but rather killing and betraying.
Thus Gaddafi is unethical and highly immoral.

Mills Utilitarianism
Killing itself doesnt promote happiness toothers and in this case it is
bringing happinessonly t
oGaddafi
According to us, Dictatorship is something that does not bring happiness to
all and this case many peoples happiness is in vain except for some
people who support him.
But as a world everybody are against his form of happiness.
Mill says By happiness is intended pleasure, and the absence of pain; by
unhappiness, pain, and the privation of pleasure.
So to conclude, we believe what Gaddafi is doing is producing more pain
rather than pleasure so the best thing for him to do right now would be to
become morally correct and get down of his leadership throne and give
happiness to all.

Kantianism
There should be a morally justifiable way for reacting to someone who
opposes your actions Gaddafi is reacting against people who are protesting but he is not acting
morally because he cannot justify his actions.
Everyone who disagrees are killed or imprisoned. So he is morally wrong.
We would say that a morally and ethically right person would treat others
as ends and not mere means.
Libya is a third world country but Gaddafi and has lots of money and thus
he used the people as a means to his power and never thought about their
welfare.
If Gaddafi was morally justifiable he would have considered living just like
his people but he did not and he is highly immoral.

Kantianism
According to the information we gathered he is highly immoral and his
actions are n
ot m
orally justifiable.
To conclude, Gaddafi actions are considered morally unjustified and thus
making him an immoral and unethical leader.
Aristotle might say that he is acting by his virtue of pride but even
that virtue has grown immensely high that it leads to killing and
imprisonment of all who are against him. Anyone leading a country
who puts his welfare above the welfare of the people he rules should
be considered immoral and unethical.
