Principal’s Message
Hello and Bonjour to all our Bowmore School families. I feel honoured and blessed to be starting my third year as principal at this very energetic school. Our school continues to grow and flourish! I am excited about some staffing changes this school year. A warm welcome to all our returning staff and to the following new staff joining our team; Jocelyn Hay (SK FI), Xandi Neville (SK FI), Muriel Nahas (1/2 FI), Phuong Cu Nguyen (1/2 FI), Jeff Munroe (2/3), Jennifer Rahbek (3), Jana Tomcko, (G Gr 4), Melissa Johnston (5), Matthew Selby (Jr. LD ISP), Darren Overby (FI Primary), Vesna Zoldos (0.5 Gr. 7), Tom Watkins (Int. Core French), Andrea Harquail (G 5/6), Carol Shea (Vice-Principal), Charlotte Burke (LTO), Sarah Cain (EA), Alice Beer (SNA). I encourage you to have a look at our school website (Please follow us on Twitter!), Bowmore school council webpage and Facebook page as a way to stay connected with all the wonderful opportunities available to students and families. We also send out a monthly newsletter, in partnership with our school council, celebrating, informing, and recognizing staff, student, and community involvement. I invite all parents to be involved in our School Council by attending the school council meetings. We are grateful to our School Council for all that they do to support student achievement and well-being. School Agendas have been purchased and you will find a wealth of school information, including school code of conduct, to help you navigate the school year. We remain committed to communicating clear and concise expectations to support the on-going development of life-long learning. September is an exciting time for children. They are embarking upon a new school year with eager anticipation. They will forge new friendships, meet new teachers and learn new routines. Bowmore School is a safe and caring learning community that values parent involvement. Teachers will keep you informed of classroom activities and provide on-going communication when necessary. As well, please feel free to connect with your child’s teacher to share your ideas on how to help your child be more successful, or with any concerns with the classroom. Thank you for helping us make Bowmore such a great place to learn and grow for all of us.
