FELTHAM HIRA NEWSLETTER—
LEADER OF THE COUNCIL AT HIRA CENTRE
Last week we were pleased to receive Cllr Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow
Council.
As part of his visit to the HIRA Centre, he
joined our new community activity: Have a
Cuppa and Enjoy a Chat. He welcomed
this initiative and showed his enthusiasm
to advertise it.
Cllr Curran could notice the arrangements
made through the years to ensure the
tranquility of the neighbourhood (noise
arrangements, parking notifications and
reminders) and the safety of the users.
Abdulaziz Ait-Rabah (Trustee) and Omer
El-Hamdoon, (Executive Manager);
explained the range of activities currently
held at the Centre and shared with him
some points of the development of the strategic plan. Cllr Curran was pleased to
see the progress made.
We thank Cllr Curran for his time and interest in our Centre and wish him to
achieve a lot during his term.

MORE ACTIVITIES AT HIRA
These times are exciting times for HIRA, as we try to expand our activities and
reach out to a wider audience. We do hope that our expansion in the Ubay
Quran School will benefit our children wishing to learn and live by the Quran.
This is coupled with the start of the Zayd ibn Thabit Youth Classes on Sundays;
and with the intensive Fiqh course starting soon (see inside for details).
We have launched our community initiative for reaching out to our neighbours
with the “Have a Cuppa” event; and the English classes for women continue, as
well as Arabic classes for sisters wishing to learn tajweed, tafsir and hadith.
We very soon hope to bring further education in the form of tuition; and
recreation in the form of youth activities, paintballing, football training and youth
clubs.
Alhamdu Lillaah, this is from the help of Allah and His support; and we ask Allah
to bless of you in your financial, physical and emotional support.

COURSE 1: THE FIQH OF PURIFICATION
2
ISLAMIC STUDIES: FIQH
SERIES
The Feltham HIRA Centre is
pleased to work in partnership
with the Kingston Oak Tree
Institute (KOTI) to deliver a
series of Islamic courses.
What are the courses about?
The courses are set up to
provide you with the basics of
Islamic ruling (Fiqh) in topics
that you need in your day to
day life (Purification, Prayer,
Trade, du’as). The teaching is
based on the Shafi’i school and
is suitable for anyone who is
seeking knowledge.
It will bring you a deeper
understanding of the topics and
give you the keys to correct
your own practice and support
your family members in their
practice.
Also, it will be the opportunity
to ask questions to an
experimented and qualified
Sheikh.
Each course is independent so
you can choose individual
courses or complete a series.
Who is it for?
The courses are open to
Sisters and brothers over 18s,
no pre-requisite needed.
Although the courses are
based on the Shafi’i school,
every Muslim can benefit from
them; as they will provide you
with strong foundations for your
practice of Islam and will in sha
Allah strengthen your faith.
Certificates will be delivered.

Why is it so difficult for adults to memorise the Qur’an: lack of time, difficulty to
memorise, can’t find a teacher, hard to get back to school? etc… these are all
reasons why the more we grow up the more it is difficult to memorise the words of
Allah. Starting young is key to achievement.
Do you wish you could have learned and memorised more of the Qur’an when you
were younger, when you had more time (and less worries)? Would you like to offer
the opportunity to your child to memorise the Qur’an at their own pace?
As parents we would like our children to
turn to Allah today and tomorrow. For
that, what best than connecting them to
His words from a young age?
The Feltham HIRA Centre has set up the
Ubay Qur’an School open to girls (6-11)
and boys (6-14).
“Verily We have revealed
the book to you in truth for
instructing mankind. He
that receives guidance
benefits his own soul, but
he that strays injures his
own soul”. (39:41).

The management of Feltham HIRA is aware of the challenges that Muslims youth in the UK have or will have to face at school, Uni and at work. That’s why we decided to set up a class led by our imams to explain the foundations of our religion and most importantly how to implement and live these foundations in the society we are living in.
The classes will cover the following topics:
• Aqidah: creed. What are the Islamic principles of faith in Islam
• Fiqh: Understand the basic ruling of Islam and their reason to be
• Akhlaq: the manners of the Muslim
We believe that it is important to address these topics, especially to our youth; to support them building their Muslim British identity. Our aim is to make them feel strong and at peace with their faith to take part and contribute to a better Society without compromising their faith.
The classes are open to the young men aged between 11-18 years old. All welcome and no registration is necessary. Classes will take place - in sha Allah - every Sunday from 6-7pm.

HIRA TUITION
FELTHAM HIRA NEWSLETTER - BRINGING MORE TO THE COMMUNITY
At Feltham HIRA, we know that it can be challenging to support our children in
their scholarship due to the lack of time, or any other reason. We also know that
not all parents can afford private tuition.
As a Community Centre, we would like to offer to children in Feltham and around
tuition at low cost. The tuitionswill be open to all children, so please feel free to
spread the word with other parents.
We are hoping to start after half term. The tuition will be for children of Primary and
Secondary levels and different subjects will be proposed.
Keep an eye on our website www.hira.org.uk or follow us on Facebook @HIRA
Masjid for upadtes.
If you would like to help out with the tuition, please email us to [email protected]
or call us on 074 6914 7968.
