Student Council’s Annual 3K Run/Walk Event
Don’t Quit When You Are Tired! Stop When You Have Finished!
Wednesday, May 6, 2020
Castle North Middle School’s Student Council will be sponsoring our
annual school-wide 3K walk/run event in order to promote making
healthy choices on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
This year’s theme is “Don’t quit when you’re tired. Stop when
you’re done.” During our event, we will inspire our students, staff, and
their families to develop lifelong and healthy habits. Our 3K event is an
exciting and fun-filled day of exercise and fitness education where
CNMS and the community come together to consider current choices
we are making and how we can make better choices to improve our
overall health.
However, this cannot happen without help from our community. Alt-
hough we are in need of donations of all kinds, we are in great need of
donations for t-shirts. Every year, we provide each student and staff
member with a shirt that each person wears the day of our event. We
are very proud of the unity we have toward evaluating our personal
choices and helping each other form goals of making healthier choices.
Students continue to wear these shirts throughout the year both in
school and in the community. However, we do not have funding to pro-
vide these shirts. As a result, we are asking our community members
and families to please help us with this. Any donation toward our efforts
would help immensely and be much appreciated. Because we are in
need of much funding, if your business or your family would be willing
to make a donation of $300 or more, we will place your business name
or family name on the back of each shirt as a way of showing our ap-
preciation for your generosity.
We also are in need of donations for bottled water, fruit pops, door priz-
es, and awards. If you would be willing to offer assistance, please con-
tact Ms. Killebrew ([email protected]) or Mrs.Bourgeois

Trouble in Paradise Junction
Join us for this year's play called Trouble
in Paradise Junction! The play tells of a small town that
seems too good to be true... No one gets sick, the toma-
toes are as big as beach balls, everyone is willing to help
each other... When a Hollywood producer stumbles into
town and hears of the "magic" of Paradise Junction, she
decides to shoot a reality show there. A TV Crew and
host is sent to Paradise Junction and finds that everyone
gets along too well so cleverly edits the footage and cre-
ates a "reality show" show called Paradise Lost. Will the
people of Paradise Junction give in to the fame that Holly-
wood may bring? Join us and see!
The shows will be Friday, February 21 at 6:30 pm
and Saturday, February 22 at 6:30 pm in Gym B.
Tickets cost $7 for students and $10 for adults. You

Percy Jackson and the
Olympians: The Lightning Thief
By Rick Riordan
A great and suspenseful read is the
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
series. In The Lightning Thief by
Rick Riordan, twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is
a troubled kid. He has been kicked out of many
boarding schools because of strange events
happening to him. Percy hopes to finish this
year at Yancy Academy, where he goes to
school. He is on a field trip to the Metropolitan
Museum of Art with his sixth grade class and
his best friend Grover. But when something bi-
zarre happens to him, Percy finds himself in
mortal danger. He winds up going to Camp
Half-Blood, where he discovers that the Greek
gods and goddesses are real, and his unknown
dad is one of them. Percy finds out that he has
been framed by Zeus to have stolen the master
bolt, Zeus’ main source of power. He goes on
an epic quest to clear his name, making new
friends and enemies. If you like stories with hu-
mor, adventure, action, and betrayal, check out
The Lightning Thief today.
