TWERTON INFANT SCHOOL & NURSERY
Monday 18th October 2021
Fun learning
in the Nursery
We provide engaging resources for children to explore and play
with. The friendly adults give varying levels of support and look for
opportunities to talk with the children to develop new vocabulary
and widen their understanding of language.

Dear Parents and Carers
Parents Evening on Tuesday and Thursday
Parents of children in the school have been assigned a 10 minute
appointment to meet with their child’s class teacher on Tuesday or
Thursday this week. We have tried to match the time to any request
that we received but this has not always been possible.
Parents will receive an SMS confirming the day and time of your
appointment and a link to click on to join the MS Teams meeting. You
can do this from a smartphone, or you can copy the link and email it
to yourself to access on a tablet, laptop or PC. It opens in a browser,
you do not need to install an App.
After you have clicked the link you will need to type in the name of
your child and your name (see below) so teachers can let you join
the meeting at the right time.
N.B. Please join the meeting a few minutes before your appointment
time. This will take you to the Lobby, or waiting room. The teacher will
then admit you to the meeting at the time of your appointment.
An SMS will be sent out later today (Monday 18th October) for
tomorrow’s (Tuesday 19th October) appointments and on Tuesday for
Thursday’s appointments.
School Meals Menu The menu for school meals is on the
school website:
https://twertoninfant.school/school-
meals/
This week is Week 2 and it is the last
week of the current menu.
After the half-term holiday there will be a new menu.
The first week back after half-term will be Week 1 of the new menu.
On Friday we are raising money for Breast Cancer
Research and inviting children to come to school
dressed in pink clothing. Please bring along a
donation if you can and we will pass it on.

Reading Books and Ditties
We are really pleased that we are now at the
stage that Reading Books and Ditties are being sent home each day.
For children bringing books home, you will find 3 books. The first book
is one that your child has been reading in school and is for them to
show you how good they are becoming at reading. The second book is
linked to the first book and will be the same level of challenge. The third
book is one from the library for parents to read to their child.
Please do bring the books to school each day and make sure that
everything is returned.
You can see the dates for the full academic year on the school
website: https://twertoninfant.school/dates/
Please contact the school if your child is unwell and cannot attend school.
