GRADE I, II & IIIEDITION - 2 (JULY- SEPT)

PREFACEDear ParentValues have the potential to broaden the mind. A broad mindequips a child to have the basic life skills which help them to findsolutions to the day-to-day problems. Children learn throughobservation. At MVN, we provide holistic education to our childrenwith great emphasis on traditional values.This quarter (July-September) witnessed lots of fun-filled activitiesat school. In the month of July, the children were engaged invarious experiential activities and competitions.They celebrated special days and festivals with great pomp andgaiety in August & September.Let’s cherish these memorable moments which have been beautifullyportrayed in this newsletter.

EDUCATIVE ASSEMBLIES…

To celebrate the first showers ofmonsoon, the students of Grade-IIIGoldcrest conducted an assembly onRainy Season. The children camedressed up in different shades of blue.They sang, danced and presented askit on rainy season. The assemblyculminated with the Do’s and Don’ts ofmonsoon season that acted as animportant health guide. They were alsoapprised about the diseases caused bymosquitoes and importance of keepingthe surrounding clean.

Monsoon Mania

An informative assembly on ‘VanMahotsav’ was conducted by thestudents of Grade II Bluejay. Theassembly began with an insightfulthought on environment. It wasfollowed by a speech on VanMahotasav. The students enthralled theaudience through a mesmerizing danceperformance. The coordinator Ms.Priya Thukral applauded the studentsfor their efforts and encouraged themto plant a tree on their birthday.

VAN MAHOTSAV

The students of Grade III Hornbillpresented a special assembly on KargilVijay Divas. They apprised the audienceabout the Kargil War and the sacrifice ofIndian soldiers. The students ignited theflame of patriotism through their songand dance performances. They alsoquoted the slogans of famous Kargil warheroes. In the end, they took an oath todo their part in serving the nation.

“Friends are the family we choose ourselves”.Friends give us emotional support and help usduring difficult times. The students of Grade IIAlbatross presented a lovely assembly on“Friendship Day” to highlight the importanceof friends in our lives. The assembly beganwith a wonderful thought on friends. Amelodious song on friendship was presentedreminding all the MVNites of how stronglythey are all knit together as a family. Theassembly concluded with a scintillating danceperformance.

FRIENDSHIP DAY

RAKSHA BANDHANTo celebrate the essence of the bondbetween siblings, a colourful assemblywas presented by the students of Grade IICanary. The assembly began with abeautiful thought which was followed by asoulful song highlighting this unique bondof love. The students were sensitizedabout the importance of celebrating thisfestival. A mesmerizing danceperformance further added to theexuberance of the festivity.

To honour the sacrifice made by thegreat men for the country andencourage patriotic feeling among thestudents, a mesmerizing assembly waspresented by the students of Grade IIEgret & Flamingo. The students camedressed as valiant freedom fighters.They presented a medley of foot-tapping patriotic songs. This wasfollowed by a splendid danceperformance by the kids. A quiz wasalso conducted to enhance andupdate their knowledge. The assemblyconcluded with the National Anthem.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

The students of Grade II Goldcrestpresented a resonating assembly tocelebrate the auspicious occasion ofJanmashtami. A skit with diverseleelas of Sri Krishna was enacted bythe students. A spectacular danceperformance representing his powersfurther added charm to theprogramme. This was followed by agroup song on the childhood of SriKrishna. The assembly concluded withthe recital of Krishna Vandana.

JANAMASHTAMI

A special assembly was conducted by the students ofGrade II Hornbill on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.The assembly commenced with the musical invocationof Lord Ganesha. The kids talked about thesignificance of the festival. This was followed by adivine dance performance. The kids were apprisedabout the importance of eco-friendly idols. Theperformance culminated with the distribution ofprasad.

GANESH CHATURTHI

The students and teachers of Primary wingcelebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm.To make their teachers feel special, a delightfulassembly was put forward by the students ofGrade II Dove and Ibis. The assembly began withan inspirational story on Gurus. The dance andmusical performances by the students and theteachers made the day explicable. A beautifulpower point presentation was shown to theaudience to exhibit their love and affection fortheir mentors. The school Principal, Ms. NeetaArora congratulated all the teachers on thisoccasion.

To bring out the artistic ability of our tinytots, they were engaged in a seed art activity.Children brought dried seeds on the sheetsprovided to them and created unique patterns.It was an amazing experience for them.Students of Grade-I were apprised about theimportance of seeds and how each seed givesrise to a new tree.

SEED ART

The students of Grade II and III participated in‘Recycling and Recreating’ Competition. Theyprepared amazing things from the material whichwe consider waste, there by making them valuethe things discarded by us and reutilizing them forcreative and useful purposes. They created photoframes, baskets, jewellery boxes, organizers usingnewspaper and cardboard.

RECYCLING & RECREATING

To celebrate the changes inseasons and develop their finemotor skills, the students ofGrade II and III prepared a leafusing the dried leaves. Theycollected the leaves fallen on theground and dried them bykeeping them pressed in thenewspaper or old books. Theactivity also gave them an insightinto the plant world. Students ofGrade I created beautiful leafprint book marks.

RAKHI MAKING ACTIVITYTo celebrate the virtuous bond of love betweenbrothers and sisters, a rakhi making activity wasconducted for the students of Grade I, II and III.The students participated enthusiastically andcame up with very creative ideas. They useddifferent articles like silken thread, glitter sheets,coloured stones and flowers to make rakhis. Theythoroughly enjoyed the activity. A rakhi makingcompetition was also organized for the studentsof Grade I.

KNOW YOUR COUNTRYTo mark the spirit of freedom, thelittle scholars of grade II and III wereengaged in the activity ‘AmazingIndia’. Children were apprised abouttheir country through videos andinteractive sessions. They wereprovided with a worksheet with themap of India. Children located variousstates and union territories in themap and coloured them. Everyoneenjoyed the activity.

AMAZING INDIA

The students of Grade I,II and IIIcelebrated Janmashtami with greatdelight. They dressed up as charactersfrom Lord. Krishna’s life. Children choseto become Radha, Krishna, Yashoda,Meera, Sudama, etc. and spoke few lineson the character they portrayed.Everyone enjoyed the activity immensely.Students of Grade I made beautifulbadges related to Janmashtami.

National Sports Day is celebrated inIndia on 29th August every year. Tomark the birthday of Major DhyanChand, the students were encouragedto play indoor games like ludo, chessin the classroom. Such activities arehelpful in developing their cognitiveskills.

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

Students of Grade I wereengaged in the activity ‘MyNeighbourhood’. A miniatureneighbourhood was createdin the primary wing. Theclassrooms were convertedinto market, police Station,hotel, hospital, bank & otherneighbourhood places. All thekids enjoyed the activity.

My Neighbourhood

To enhance the literary skills of our students andinculcate good reading habits in them, a bookweek called ‘The Books EXTRAVAGANZA’ wasorganized for the students of Grade-I, II and IIIwherein children were exposed to variousactivities. Our tiny tots had a wonderful timelistening to the stories, drawing, coloring andspeaking about their favorite characters. Theyalso enjoyed framing their own stories using thehints given to them. The event culminated with astory telling session by Ms. Nupur. It was a weekfull of fun and learning. This was followed by a‘Book Fair’ put up in the school premises.

To ensure that the students getaccess to the books for their readinglevels and interests, a book fair wasorganized by Scholastic India at MVNAravali Hills. The children enjoyedbrowsing through the wide range ofbooks such as fiction, adventure,story books, comics encyclopedia andmuch more. Children made a wish listof their favourite books. A lucky drawwas also organized by the Scholasticgroup. The fair was a huge success.

BOOK FAIR

English CalligraphyCompetitionAn ‘English CalligraphyCompetition’ was conducted forthe students of Grade – II and III.The purpose of the competitionwas to encourage the children towrite neatly in the given time. Allthe children participatedenthusiastically in the activity.Winners were awarded with acertificate as a token ofappreciation.

Students of Grade IIparticipated in ‘Inspiration –2019-20’ held at EicherSchool, Faridabad. Theyemerged victorious bysecuring the Second positionin the event, ‘Euphoria - Tapyour feet.’

Anya Sachdeva and Venu Gopal of Grade I and Grade II participatedin ‘TECHNO-CON’ held at The Modern School, Sector-85 Faridabadon 31st August’2019. They brought laurels to the school by securingthe First position in the event ‘COZ APPLAY’.

Samriddh and Abhishyant ofGrade III clinched Gold andSilver medals in ‘3rdFaridabad District KickboxingChampionship’ 2019 held atGBN school Sec-21D ,Faridabad. We congratulateour young victors.

Jayy Rawat of Grade IIIhas made the schoolproud by securing theSecond position in DistrictTable Tennis RankingChampionship held atGrand Columbus School ,Sec – 16 Faridabad.

• Our budding artists ,Chitroopa C.S. and Diyaof Grade II have made the school proud bysecuring the First and Second position in theevent, ‘ARTISTIC IMPRESSIONS’ held atApeejay Svran Global School , Sec 21D,Faridabad.
