Cell Phone Towers
NotesThe two pictures shown above are of cell phone tower
installations around Dunedin (the one down the street from the Otago Polytechnic and [oddly] one in a fish and chip parking lot).
The picture on the left is from my first roll of film. The second roll of film (on the right) that I shot did not turn out so well. Something had gone wrong, but I am unsure as to what happened to make my film turn out the way it had. Most of the pictures were quite blurry, you could not make out what they were and there was not a lot of great tonal range of black and white.
The picture on the left is a blocking experiment, a technique I was shown by a fellow student. Blocking is when you block the light exposure with your hands to keep certain areas lighter or to make an area maintain a greater tonal range.
This picture I took with a 200mm lens to isolate the street and put more focus on the power lines that entangle and spread through out the picture.

Graffiti on walls near the university.
With the photo at the top I “blocked” the right hand side
of the picture.
Reflection TestA reflection experiment I did near the Meridian. There was a window which reflected an ally way on the opposite
side of the street. So I decided to have a go and see if I could capture the
reflection of people going through the ally.
