the battlecry of many, both public and private individuals organizations. We firmly believe that this nation can only move forward with leaders whose integrity and dedication are beyond reproach, whose words and actions speak for themselves leaving no room for Juan dela Cruz to doubt. This is where we can play a vital role as CPAs particularly in the area of funds utilization and accountability, of our already thinning resources.

May I therefore admonish every participant to this convention to take an active role towards the attainment of GACPA’s mission and vision and continue the search for new initiatives and doable reforms, thus, making us a more vibrant partner in nation building.

Lastly, let me take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the officers and members of the Board both from the National Headquarters and the Host Chapter, to the working committees, the speakers, the participants and to the countless others whose efforts, time and resources contributed to the success of this convention.

To our Almighty God and Loving Father, my Praises for His unconditional love and guidance all the way!

in our economy. The accountant’s ability to apply his knowledge and skills in reaching informed decision and rendering opinions on financial statements is essential in analyzing the workings in the business community. It is therefore imperative for those in the accounting profession to strive for honesty, truthful-ness and openness in dealing with their clients and the general public. And as we continue to carry out the programs of the present administration, it is sincerely hoped that the Government Association of Certified Public Accountants will support the reforms being instituted in government for a more effective and efficient bureaucracy.

I commend the organizers of this convention for your dedication and untiring efforts in making this event a success. And as you continue to grow amidst new sets of challenges and goals, I wish you the best as we look forward to many more fruitful endeavors from your association.

Mabuhay po kayong lahat!

FRANKLIN M. DRILON Senator
