Taiji Pole
The Spiritual Anatomy of Qi Gong
Taiji Pole energy
field is the inner core
of the energy body
Taiji Pole energy field
It is cylindrical in shape and runs the length of the head and trunk of the body. It is this energy field that allows the physical incarnation of the consciousness to take place.
It is described as a
“pulsating field of white light
The light from theTaiji
resonates in the Upper and Lower Dantians and flows from the Governing Vessel as a Sea of (+) energy and from the Conception Vessel as a Sea of (-) energy exiting from the Middle Dantien.

The 3 Dantians
are the Jing,
Qi and
Shen.
Also known as
The 3 Treasures
Taiji Pole flows from Sun to Earth
The positive pole energies are resonant with the electromagnetic energies of the Sun and Solar System.
The negative pole energies are resonant with gravity and magnetic energies of the Earth.
Taiji Pole posture is Wuji☯Wuji in Chinese martial
arts refers to an erect posture of equilibrium, which may be described as the most balanced and relaxed posture that can exist midway between the states of Yin and Yang
Taiji Pole posture is Wuji☯To fully understand the kinesthetic experience
of the Wuji posture, one must have an understanding of the triple warmers since they play a critical role in the stability of spinal posture.
☯In Qigong theory, the Triple Warmer energy centers are documented as true physical energy depots, and the Upper, Middle, and Lower Dan Tians are distinguished as discrete bioelectric storage centers.
Taiji Pole connects Lower Dantian The Lower Dan Tian is rooted
inferiorly through the perineum CV 1 (Huiyin).
The root chakra CV 1 (Huiyin) describes the meeting point of the four Yin vessels supporting and rooting the body: Yin Linking, Yin Heel, Penetrating (Chong Mai), and Conception Vessels.
Taiji Pole connects middle Dantian
The upper half of the body, although physically functioning as a single entity, in Qigong theory, is composed of two interrelated energy centers, the Upper and Middle Dantians.
The Middle Dantian, physically existing at the diaphragm level, is influenced significantly by the heart, which provides the emotional spirit (Xin).
The Upper Dantian, comprises the home of the Spirit (Shen) and provides the wisdom (Yi) to stabilize the emotional spirit (Xin) of the heart.
Taiji Pole connects 14 energy Gates
Of the 14 Qi Gates, there are 8 main portals of Qi entry and exit represented in ancient texts by the 8 trigrams. Of these 8 gates
4 are major: GV 20 (Baihui), CV 1 (Huiyin), CV 7 (Yinjiao), and GV 4 (Mingmen);
4 are deemed minor: CV 22 (Tiantu), CV 15 (Jinwei), GV 24.5 (Yin Tang), and GV 10 (Lingtai).
Taiji Pole connects 14 energy Gates
Of these 7 paired gates, 2 axis pairs are considered the most important: CV 1-GV 20 (Huiyin-Baihui), and CV 7-GV 4 (Yinjiao-Mingmen).
The CV 1-GV 20 (Huiyin-Baihui) path is connected through the Thrusting Vessel (Chong Mai). This encompasses the major pathway of movement of Qi between the Upper and Lower Dan Tians through the Taiji Pole.
Taiji Pole pearls of Posture☯ 1. Grip 10 toes to the
ground in order to connect Kidney 1 to earth.
☯ 2. Distribute weight evenly on the balls and heels of feet
☯ 3. Roll pelvis forward☯ 4.Point Tailbone down ☯ 5. Stretch lowest ribs forward☯ 6. Lift collarbone
☯7. Sink shoulders and elongate neck☯ 8. Let arms and hands fall naturally at sides☯ 9. Touch tongue to roof of mouth☯ 10. Quiet the mind, breathe smoothly and naturally through the nose.
Balanced posture in Qigong is best described
as a dance ☯To be truly balanced in the Wuji state,
there can be no tension or strain in the posture. The joints themselves must feel in the position of neutrality without tension in the ligaments or muscles controlling them.
☯Any tension will result in the restriction of the flow of Qi and impede the stability of the stance.
WUJI IN QIGONG MEDITATION
☯Wuji in Qigong meditation describes a learned meditation state and a transition point in the education of the Qigong student.
☯Having achieved this meditative state, the Qigong practitioner has attained the ability to keep thoughts pure and harmonious without emotional disturbance.
WUJI IN QIGONG MEDITATION
☯Using standing meditation and the movement of Qi, the student can facilitate the simultaneous downward migration of the Shen (Spirit) from G.V. 20 (Bahui) residing in the Great Spiritual Valley (Shen Gu) of the Upper Dan Tian,
☯And move the Qi upward from where it resides in the Lower Dantian.
WUJI IN QIGONG MEDITATION
☯Both will meet at the furnace of the Huang Ting, an intermediate point representing the ultimate polarity position of Yin and Yang.
☯It is here that the Embryonic Spiritual Being (Shen Tai) will be conceived by advanced Qigong practitioners on the path of advancement to Enlightenment and the gift of absolute awareness with the opening of The Third Eye (Yintang).
WUJI as Great Nothingness
☯Wuji describes a midpoint between the polarities of Yin and Yang.
☯Wuji can be discussed both in terms of the physical as well as the mental state, and the philosophical duality of Yin/Yang describes that theoretical point of balance, comprising an almost indivisible point where the differentiation between Yin and Yang becomes infinitesimal.
Energy Gates are chakrasThe 3 Dantians are connected to the
12 major energy Gates or 7 Chakras
The word "Chakra" is Sanskrit for "Wheel of Light".
The Crown Chakra is a single Gate found above the top of the head and is responsible for absorbing Heavenly Qi and light into the body as well as energizing the Taiji core.
The Basal Chakra is a single Gate found in the perineum and is responsible for absorbing Earthly Qi as well as energizing the taiji core.
5 Dual Gates
The front Gates are connected to the Conception Vessel and are said to be responsible for the feelings and emotional activity of humans.
The back Gates are connected to the Governing Vessel and are said to be responsible for the thought, will and determination of humans.
Taiji Pole
Taiji Pole connect Hui Yin (perineum) to Bai Hui (crown of skull). This opening ensures smooth flow of Qi through Spinal cord and Cerebro-spinal fluid.
Taiji Pole includes
Governing Vessel Meridian – Back Conception Vessel Meridian – FrontCoresponds to Central Nervous system

Three Treasures
The Taoist School of Internal Alchemy teaches that there are three types of energy known as the three treasures Generative Energy Vital Energy Spirit Energy.
Lower Dantien
Generative Energy or Ching also spelled Jing is stored in the lower "burning space" known as a tan-t'ien (elixir field) and when the individual is actively cultivating this area or transforming sexual desires to become empty, it is referred to as "lead flower emerging". This area relates to the sacral or second chakra center.
Lower TantienThis area relates to the sacral or second
chakra center. Represented by 6 petaled Lotus
Middle Tantien
Vital Energy or Ch'i also spelled qi is stored in the middle "burning space" or tan-t'ien and when the individual is actively cultivating this area or taming the emotions, it is referred to as "silver flower emerging".
Middle Dantien
This area relates to the solar plexus or third chakra center, the heart or fourth chakra center and the throat or fifth chakra center.
Upper Tantien
Spirit Energy or Shen is stored in the upper "burning space" or tan-t'ien and when the individual is actively cultivating this area or taming thoughts and becoming still, it is referred to as "golden flower emerging".
Upper Tantien
This area relates to the third eye or sixth chakra center and the crown chakra.

Qi Gong is spiritualAccording to the Taoist School of Internal
Alchemy, two of these three treasures, Ch'i and Shen, travel by way of the meridians while Ching moves through the bones.
The practice of Qi Gong is used to develop vital energy or Ch'i because Daoists understand that physical exercise is the root of spiritual practice.
Shen Gong is Taiji Pole
Spirit Energy or Shen moves through channels known as the "Eight Extra Meridians". Three of these "Eight Extra Meridians" include:
Governing Vessel runs along the spine Conception Vessel, runs down the front mid
line of the body Penetrating Vessel (Chong mai), runs
through the center of the body from the perineum to the crown.
ChakrasThe seven major chakras are located along the Chong mai.
the "Microcosmic Orbit”
The circle can go either direction; usually the energy goes up the back and down the front, because the Yang channel has more of a feel for rising than the Yin one.
You allow the energy to rise up the Yang channel, cross the top of the head, go down and empty into the tip of the tongue in the cavity of the mouth, and go down the front.
Microcosmic OrbitThis is called in Chinese "Xiao Jou Tien"
which translates as Little Circulation Heaven.
The translation implies that you are a little heaven inside the great heaven. In your practice, as you use the magnetic force of yin and yang, you become a little version of the heavenly circulation that is happening all around us cosmically.
Energy bouncing
The basic standing position allows both the arms and the legs to act like pumps in various exercises.
That is why it is important to have a good standing position as you jump rope in slow motion.
Qigong Steps
It is said that as the master walks down the street, when his left foot goes forward, Qi goes up; as his right foot goes forward, Qi goes down. On one step, the energy rises; on the other, the energy comes down. This focus of energy in the body is called "Chin Tan" or "Golden Ball".
MeditationStanding Meditation is a posture that sinks the Qi, creating a hollow under the balls of the feet and the armpits. This posture allows you to absorb Qi from the environment.
