The Book of John
Who Wrote it ? As its &tle suggests this book was wri2en by John, also known as the one whom Jesus loved. He was actually the disciple who was closest to Jesus and this Gospel reflects that in&macy.
Who was it wri3en to and why?
John specifically states his purpose in 20:31, "But these are wri2en that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." Therefore the purpose of John's Gospel is to "confirm and secure Chris&ans in the faith."
The Great Promise!!!
""And I will aks my Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn't looking for Him and doesn't recognize Him. But you know Him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you." John 14:16-‐17
