Inside this issue:
You’ve heard about Project Glory in a recent letter sent to the congregation.
• The estimated total cost is approximately $700,000.
• The FUMC, Bryan Endowment Corporation Board voted to dedicate at least $450,000 over the next five years as needed for the maintenance expenses listed below:
- 3 A/C systems
- Sanctuary repairs
- CLC/EB roof replacement
• We sent a letter to members announcing Project Glory as our program to raise $250,000 either in one-time gifts or pledges over the next three years.
• We’ve already begun to receive pledges and gifts. We have faith the Lord will provide as you give generously, faithfully and cheerfully.
• The more money we raise toward our maintenance expenses means the less money that must be taken from our Endowment Fund.
If you have already made a gift to Project Glory, then we thank you with a grateful heart. June 2
nd is “Commitment Sunday.” Please bring your pledge
cards to worship that day or return them to the church office prior to June 2
nd. We will announce our total pledges on Father’s Day, June 16
th.
“All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 NLT

It was exciting to participate in this competition with other pastors preparing desserts! FUMC
Bryan received second place with Fany’s delicious Peruvian dessert, Alfajores.
We are very grateful to everyone at FUMC Bryan who donated so many things. It was a great garage sale! We collected $3,400 dollars thanks to you! God bless you!
We are also happy because on May 18th, Fany graduated from
Perkins with a Masters in Theology. God is with us!

Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. When you choose to live by faith, extend yourself and exhibit care to people, there is something a lot like Jesus going on in your mind and spirit. Leave your comfort zone and reach for that which is significant for eternity. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The greatest gift you can give someone is an introduction to the God who asked his son to go the unthinkable distance to redeem them. John 14:15-17 If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be
in you.
If you are a follower of Christ then you ARE called, equipped and expected to share the gospel. The Holy Spirit can accomplish miracles when Christ followers step out of their circle of comfort to share the hope of the gospel.
Today, I sow for a great awakening.
Today, I stake everything on the promise of the Word of God. I depend entirely on the power of the Holy Spirit. I have the same mind in me that was in Christ Jesus. Because Jesus is good news and Jesus is in me, I am good news.
Today, I will sow the extravagance of the gospel everywhere I go and into everyone I meet.
Today, I will love others as Jesus has loved me.
Today, I will remember that the tiniest seeds become the tallest trees; that the seeds of today become the shade of tomorrow; that the faith of right now becomes the future of the everlasting Kingdom.
Today, I sow for a great awakening.

Congratulations to Colleen Holmes for winning an award from Girl Scouts of America. Colleen puts her faith into action inside and outside of the church building!
The women of BVCASA are in need of these essential garments. It would be a blessing if you could financially contribute so we may purchase these items for them. Please write your checks to FUMC and write BVCASA donation in the memo line.
They could also use jeans (size 10+) and shoes (8+) as well. If you have new or gently used clothes, please bring them to the church office for our worship members.
Can you imagine not having any underwear?
Yes! You read that correctly...
At the beginning of the school year, this young boy was very afraid of dogs. At our last reading session, I asked him if he trusted Mikey and he said “Yes I love Mikey!” I responded by saying “Mikey trusts you too!”
We all can learn that love and trust are the basis for a strong relationship. Puppies and kids are great evangelists!
Page 5 Vol. LX, No. 6 www.fumcbryan.org
A special thank you goes out to the men who helped serve the
food so that the women gathered could truly worship and enjoy the
special event!
The first Circle of Grace was a huge success! The women of First United Methodist Church Bryan hosted Bobbi Ann Allen at their Saturday breakfast and lunch. Bobbi Ann lead the women in a time of self-reflection. The ladies were encouraged to look in the mirror and see the perfect and beautiful women that were made by God’s own hands and in his image. They were also challenged to “Own” their gifts and prayerfully consider how they can use their unique gifts for God’s purposes.
