Principal’s Message Hello Parents and Guardians,
Our year is moving quickly as we begin to move into our spring sports, and
prepare for upcoming events such as TOLO, HSPE testing and Senior Exit
Interviews. I want to thank all those community members who have volunteered
to serve on the upcoming Senior Exit Interview Panels.
This edition of Wolf Tracks is filled with dates for upcoming activities so please
check the dates and I hope you will come support our students. I want to
congratulate the great achievements of so many of our students, ranging from
dance, artists, Solo and Ensemble Festival winners, to Garden Show, rifle team,
girls’ basketball and Student of the Month and Athletes of the Week.
March 26th is our 8th Grade Parent Night and we look forward to meeting our
upcoming freshman class of 2018. Our incoming freshmen will be able to meet and
ask questions of each department teacher as well as club representatives and
coaches for various sports.
We are presently in the process of pre registration for 2014-2015. Our counselors
meet at TMS with the 8th graders on March 25th to start preregistration and April
1st to complete preregistration. We will soon begin the process of creating next
year’s master schedule.
If your son or daughter needs to retrieve credit please speak with the counselor to
make arrangements for APEX courses. Senior’s retrieving credit on APEX need to
use April’s spring break to get their online courses well underway or done. Again a
reminder that all online courses for seniors must be completed no later than May
23rd as one of the requirements for participation in graduation ceremony.
Again I thank you for your support of our students. We have great events
scheduled that showcase the many talents of our students.

The Thurston County Food Bank is grateful for this opportunity to lift up the Black Hills High School Community.
The Food Bank’s story is about a community coming together to end hunger. It is about people caring for those
facing challenges and about many people giving a little to achieve a bigger impact. Our story is about change, in-
novation and commitment. Black Hills students, parents and staff continue to be leading characters in our tale. We
thank you for sponsored events, enthusiastic volunteers, food and monetary donations. Without you the story

On February 11th the BHHS Key club concluded the second of three blood drives to held at BHHS for the 2013-14
school year. The goal was to break the school record of eighty-nine (89) donors. We came close in the fall with eighty-four (84). However, we crushed the record with 104 donors! Outstanding! All the logistics went so
smooth and we were even electronic! ( data entry, collection, questionnaires, etc).
According to Tori Fairhurst, the blood drive center has never observed such high donation rates from a school in
Thurston County!
