Civil Engineering department have been recognized as the research center and 13 students have been enrolled in this research center. Prof and Head Dr.R.Venkatasubramani guiding 7 Research Scholars. Faculty members have published 30 papers in International Journals, 42 papers in National Journals, 65 papers in International Conferences, 127 papers in National Conferences. The department has produced 32 rank holders in B.E. and 3 rank holders in M.E. programmes. 6 Gold medals were won by the B.E. students and 1 gold medal was won by M.E.Student.

Professional activities A seminar on 3G Wireless technologies was conducted by the department of IT in Association with CSI student Chapter on 01st August 2009. Mr. Sekharan, AGM BSNL, Coimbatore delivered the Special Lecture on 3G Wireless Technologies and its implementation in the BSNL India.
The Tacheyons-09 a national level technical symposium was conducted on 09-09-09 by the department of IT in association with CSI Student Chapter of our college. The symposium comprised of the events like Paper presentation, Technical Quiz, Network Gaming, C-Head, Best Manager and Short film making.

Career
Counseling
For effective counseling, one faculty advisor is responsible for every 20 students. The faculty advisors closely monitor the performance of the students and appraise the same to their parents. Whenever required, the parents are called for counseling and corrective measures are taken.
Technical and aptitude training programmes are conducted for the final and pre final year students regularly twice a week by the Placement and Training Cell. Resource persons from leading Training centre for aptitude training, soft skill training by drawn to train the students.
The Placement and Training Cell regularly conducts motivation classes for the second year students of all branches.

19 Students Activity Body
Cultural activities
College pays attention to the students’ life both inside and outside the class room, balancing between the two. Students are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities in various clubs like Fine Arts, Music, Photographic etc. Students’ talents are staged every year and allowed to participate in cultural events in others colleges also. Best performances are staged in important events like college day, farewell day, Hostel day, etc. Training in drawing & painting talent is given by artists drawn from art schools.
Sports activities
Play grounds to play Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Cricket, kho-Kho, Ball Badminton and Basketball are well maintained. Facilities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom and a multi-station Gym facility are available. Our students have been doing extremely well in TIES & University Tournaments and also represented Anna University Team for Kho-Kho and Hockey.
Literary activities
Students are encouraged to participate in Quiz, Literacy & Debating club. Periodical training is conducted by experts in moulding the students to participate in quiz & debates in professional society competition in other colleges. Students are trained about pronunciation and accent of speech in Communication lab.
Magazine / Newsletter
A newsletter titled “Mano Vriksha” and a magazine titled ‘’Bhavna” are released once in every year. The newsletter is released to disseminate the information about the academics and extracurricular activities held at our campus during that academic year. The magazine is used as a platform for the students to portray their talents in various fields by encouraging them to give their contributions in terms of shortstories, poems, paintings, etc.
Technical activities / TechFest
Every department conducts national level technical symposium every year. Entire activities are organized by the students themselves. Every department invites experts from industries and other leading academic institutions to speak on the frontier subjects in their respective association meetings.
Industrial Visits / Tours
Two industrial visits per semester for every class are arranged. Final and pre final year students of all branches of study are permitted to go on industrial tours to renowned

industries of other states. Many industry sponsored projects are also arranged for the students.
Alumni activities
An alumni cell is functioning with three chapters in Coimbatore, Chennai and Bangalore. Alumni sponsored national level conferences are conducted. Alumni sponsored endowment award has been institute in School of Management. They are invited to deliver guest lectures in their area of achievements. Career guidance programme is arranged with the help of them to orient and motivate the students.
