Blessings, Rev. April
The Wesleyan tradition has personal accountabil-ity wired into its being! Wesley’s discipling process was centered in accountability. Whenever people made a commit-ment to become part of the Methodist movement they were all required to participate in what was known as a Class Meet-ing. The Class Meeting met weekly in groups of 15 or less participants. These groups were led by a ‘Spiritual Director’. Each meeting included worship, prayer, collection
of offering, and personal accountability to a Disci-pleship Covenant which was laid out within the group. As the disciples matured they then moved on into a more intimate group of 3-5 where there was a much higher level of ac-countability. These groups were called Band or Select Societies. Joh Wesley discovered that in order for persons to grow deeper as disci-ples they needed to “watch over one another in love”. This is the in-tent for the accountable

They cast their long shadow over every-thing we aspire to do, every new land we seek to inhabit, every dream we hope to pursue. Today we’d call them bullies, but they’re the same old giants, and they have
us intimidated in the same old way.

Learn from the fierce women of God who changed the world. Can we be fierce? Absolutely! In fact, women like us have been changing the world for thousands of years—many who received little fanfare yet lived fiercely anyway. In this six-week study we will look at lesser-known female charac-ters in the Bible and the ways they changed the world by living into God’s calling. As we explore their lives, we will discover how we too can live into our callings, honor the Lord, and even change the world through our courage, faithfulness, and obedience.

Barb Keller Scholarship Committee, We wanted to thank you for the generous scholar-ship to aide in our academ-ic careers. This scholarship plays a vital role in us con-tinuing our education and gets us one step closer to impacting youth in Chanute the way Coach did.

Barb Keller Memorial Scholarship Selection Committee, Thank you so much for the renewal of my scholar-ship. The cost of college went up again this year and most of my first year scholarships dropped off, so the financial assistance is appreciated more than ever. I am working hard at K-State, taking 19 hours this semester towards my degree in Ag Econ / Agri-business minoring in Nonprofit leadership. Your award to me is all the more meaningful, since Ms. Keller was my mom’s teacher. Thanks again for your generosity!
Sincerely, Sage Collins
Thank you for choosing me as a recipient of Miss Keller’s scholarship. My mom told me that she has her for a teacher and coach at Royster and she has special memories of her. It is an honor to be chosen and I am very thankful for the financial help to continue my education at Washburn University.
Thanks again! Hannah

Our PastorOur PastorOur PastorOur Pastor
Have you ever walked in our Pastor's shoes,
And gone where her feet have trod?
Have you ever thought of what she means to us,
And on your knees, given thanks to God?
Have you ever told her thank you,
For being there, when times are tough, For comforting words and fervent prayers
When trials come and the storms of life are rough?
She answers our calls in the middle of the night And tells us not to worry,
for she will be there. she gives up her comfort
of quiet rest And comes with prayers
of comfort to share. Have you ever thought to
say thank you Pastor, For preaching God's word
to help us understand, For all the times she has
asked for things That will lend us a
helping hand? When you pray, put her at
the top of the list And ask the Lord to sur-
round her with loving care, To give her strength and walk with her,
To help her with the bur-dens that she must bear. Have you ever walked in
our Pastor's shoes, And gone where her feet
have trod? Have you ever thought of what she means to us,
And on your knees, given thanks to God?

Dear Barb Keller Scholar-ship Committee, My name is Kyndal Fred-erick and I am extremely honored to be one of the recipients of the Barb Kel-ler Scholar Award. I want to express my utmost grati-tude and thanks for being selected as a recipient. The financial assistance that you have provided has lifted a major financial burden in obtaining my books and supplies throughout my first year in the nursing program. Thank you again for your support and generosity. I plan to continue to work very hard toward my goal of becoming a R.N. and completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree form Irene Ranson Bradley School of Nursing at Pittsburg State University.
Thank you, Kyndal Frederick
