Love, the Greatest Commandment, Part 6Help One Another, Don’t Hurt Others
The sixth of the Ten Commandments says: “You shall not murder”
(Exodus 20:13 ESV).
When we love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind, and our
neighbor as ourselves …1
We don’t do things that will put another person’s life in danger. For example, you wouldn’t say to a friend, “I dare you to run in front of that car,” or “I dare
you to stick your finger into the electrical outlet.”
We should do things that help others, not things that could
possibly hurt them.

You couldn’t! Ha, ha!
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you,
you also are to love one another” (John 13:34 ESV).
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4 ESV).
Oh no, I kicked it out to the road!
Ball!
No, Lily, it’s too dangerous. I’ll get it when
it’s safe.
