Meeting was called to order by Scott Callihan at 1:33pm.
Present (in addition to the checked boxes above): Joachin Arias, Nabeel Barakat, Ana Escandon, Ana Nakano-Sanchez.
1:35 Approval of Agenda by Corbally, Pimentel (MSP).
1:37 Approval of Minutes of May 5, 2020 meeting by Corbally, Pimentel (MSP).
1:39 Notification Items a. The transition to eLumen is a few weeks behind schedule. The migration of data is scheduled for July
and the validation process is scheduled for August and September. The ECD has been placed into aread-only mode. At this time there is no system available for faculty to make curriculum changes. Iftime-sensitive curriculum changes need to be done, contact Callihan to determine the best way toget it accomplished. If possible it is preferred to make curriculum changes after eLumen is up andrunning. We are still fully able to submit and approve changes. Once approved by CC, Senate andsubsequent entities (if needed), curriculum changes are official even though there is no electronicsystem to store them during the transition.
b. The Summer Blanket DE application was approved by the State. The Fall Blanket is due July 1. Weplan to submit mid-June.
c. DE Addenda forms in Word doc format have been circulated to Division Chairs. Completed formsshould be emailed to Callihan. At this time they cannot be entered into the ECD. Sample DEAddenda for lecture and lecture/lab courses have been circulated to Division Chairs.
d. Additional courses are being added to the Political Science AAT that was approved at the Maymeeting. This will increase options for students to complete and the degree should still be availablein the Fall. The revised version will go through CC when ready.
e. Due to the volume of DE Addenda that need to be approved as part of the Blanket DE Addendumregulations, the committee will meet on July 7. A meeting on August 4 is expected to be needed aswell. Callihan asked for input on moving the 9/1 (second day of school) meeting to 9/8. There was a
1
discussion about moving CC meetings to Senate off-weeks to simplify and speed up the process of Senate approvals of curriculum. Callihan will review the Shared Governance calendar.
2:15 Action Items a. The draft of Harbor’s AP credit chart has been updated for several disciplines since introduced at the
May meeting (Appendix D). Information in black will be posted in the College catalog and the columns on the right in blue will be available for easy reference by counselors. Motion to approve: Corbally, Second: Saddigh, Unanimous. Items will be submitted at next Senate meeting for approval.
b. Course proposals for review (Appendix A). Motion to approve: Corbally, Second: Subramaniam, Unanimous. Items will be submitted at next Senate meeting for approval.
c. Program proposals for review (Appendix B, C). Motion to approve: Corbally, Second: Colocho, Unanimous. Items will be submitted at next Senate meeting for approval.
d. Revised Committee Self Evaluation for 2019-2020 (Appendix E). Several items were added to the document approved in May. Motion to approve: Corbally, Second: Colocho, Unanimous. Items will be submitted at next Senate meeting for approval.

Template # 2014 CCC Major or Area of Emphasis: Biology
Rev. 2: 05/18/2015 TOP Code: 040100 CSU Major(s): Biology Total Units: 29 (all units are minimum semester units)
In the four columns to the right under the College Program Requirements, enter the college’s course identifier, title and the number of units comparable to the course indicated for the TMC. If the course may be double-counted with either CSU-GE or IGETC, enter the GE Area to which the course is articulated. To review the GE Areas and associated unit requirements, please go to Chancellor’s Office Academic Affairs page, RESOURCE section located at:
http://extranet.cccco.edu/Divisions/AcademicAffairs/CurriculumandInstructionUnit/TransferModelCurriculum.aspx
or the ASSIST website: http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/help/help-csu_ge.html.
The units indicated in the template are the minimum semester units required for the prescribed course or list. All courses must be CSU transferable. All courses with an identified C-ID Descriptor must be submitted to C-ID prior to submission of the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) proposal to the Chancellor’s Office.
Where no C-ID Descriptor is indicated, discipline faculty should compare their existing course to the example course(s) provided in the TMC at:
http://www.c-id.net/degreereview.html
Attach the appropriate ASSIST documentation as follows: • Articulation Agreement by Major (AAM) demonstrating lower division preparation in the major at a CSU;• CSU Baccalaureate Level Course List by Department (BCT) for the transfer courses; and/or,• CSU GE Certification Course List by Area (GECC).
The acronyms AAM, BCT, and GECC will appear in C-ID Descriptor column directly next to the course to indicate which report will need to be attached to the proposal to support the course’s inclusion in the transfer degree. To access ASSIST, please go to http://www.assist.org.

Revised 4/20/20
LAHC AP Credit Policy Design Principles
Areas of Emphasis: Award the equivalent units that the CSU system grants toward transfer in the area of emphasis relevant to the exam.
Credit is not granted as a substitution for the course but student is advised “do not enroll” in specified courses in the event that the LAHC or university department determines the course to be duplication of content.
ADT Major: Per LACCD ADT Reciprocity Guidelines: “The use of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate external exams is permitted for ADT major requirements. No other external exams may be used to satisfy ADT major requirements. The applicability of external exams to the CSUGE Plan and the IGETC are in the CSU Coded Memo AA-2015-19 and in the IGETC Standards. For external exam applicability to the ADT major course requirements, the following guidelines should be followed: If a CSU campus gives course credit for a passed exam to the equivalent CCC course on the TMC template, the exam may be used to satisfy the major course requirement. The number of units applied to the major requirements for the passed exam should be based on the CSU Advanced Placement Policy, the CSU International Baccalaureate Policy.
Caution: Students should be advised that the CSU campus they matriculate to may not accept the passed exam for course credit which may result in the student having to take the course after transfer.”
Prerequisite Clearance: Based on ADT major credit as well as ELAC’s prerequisite clearance policy to maintain as much consistency as possible within our District and with transferable subject/course credit.
Notes: Art History 101 & 102 credit based on CSULB policy for granting both as well as Art History major articulation agreement.
AP Music Theory credit based on CSULB AP policy and major articulation agreement
AP World History was decreased to 3 units by the CSU system: https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/transfer/Pages/advanced-placement-ap.aspx.
CSULB no longer gives credit for History 086, but does grant credit for History 087 equivalent beginning F’19: http://catalog.csulb.edu/content.php?catoid=3&navoid=147#advanced-placement-credit. LACCD policy (updated Jan. 2020) continues to award 6 units towards the AA/AS/ADT degrees, however an email from Elizabeth Atondo on 4/8/20 stated it is likely to be edited to match the CSU policy.
