Littore Family Winesstarted supplying wines toColes nine years ago and sincethen has grown to become thecompany’s largest private-label wine supplier.

In September it was recog-nised by Coles with the Out-standing Service Supplier ofthe Year award.

ANIMAL lovers across the region will gather next weekend for the annual Jirrahlinga Cup to help critters like Spunky the baby koala. The spring carnival-themed event at the Novotel Hotel on October 30 is a key fundraiser for the Barwon Heads sanctuary and will feature phantom races, fashions on the field and auctions. Presto’s big-five movie deal fights NetflixPRESTO has fired the firstshot in the 2016 streamingwars by locking up five of thisyear’s top 10 movie titles.

Presto has announced thatit will provide local subscriberswith access to blockbustersJurassic World, Furious 7, Min-ions, Mission Impossible —Rogue Nation, and Fifty Shades

of Grey. The year’s No.11movie, Terminator: Genisys willalso roll out on Presto.

The big-money deal is asure sign that the war betweenPresto and rivals Netflix, Stan,and Quickflix is reaching boil-ing point.

derella and Ant Man. Stan willget San Andreas.

Netflix dominates the Aus-sie Streaming Video on De-mand (SVOD) market withmore than a million viewers —about 10 times its competitors.

“The SVOD market is stillbeing skewed by free trial of-fers but one thing is certain —

people are constantly lookingfor fresh content and if theydon’t get it, they will re-evalu-ate their subscription,” mediaanalyst Steve Allen said.

GEELONG-owned businessLittore Wine Group is inreceivership, with its winery inthe Moorabool Valley andother assets across the countryon the market.

Ferrier Hodgson has beenappointed as the receiver forthe company, which was onlylast month recognised on thenational stage at a Colesawards ceremony.

Idyll Vineyards and LittoreFamily Wines, companiesowned by the Littores, are alsounder external administration.

Company partner VinceLittore was not able to confirmthe circumstances leading upto the company moving intoreceivership, but said he hopedthe situation would be resolvedquickly.

“We’re a local Geelong fam-ily who keep working hard onour businesses, and we believeeverything will pan out,” MrLittore said.

Colliers International hasbeen appointed by FerrierHodgson to sell the Ballan Rdwinery, with national directorTim Altschwager saying therehad been several inquiriessince the property went on themarket last week.

“Interest will come fromdomestic, from current wineindustry people and then dom-estic investors and some over-seas interest,” Mr Altschwagersaid.
