ServicesMembership Loans Policy

Membership is free to residents of the Southern Downs Region who can provide one (1) form of suitable identification containing their name and current address. A list of accepted forms of identification is available at each library.

For applicants under 16 years of age, a parent or guardian must sign a completed membership form and provide the one (1) form of identification containing the current address.

Non-residents of Southern Downs Region can join on payment of an annual fee.

RESERVATIONS

• Up to ten (10) reservations may be placed on a card.

When placing your own reservations:

• PIN – the first four (4) letters of your surname in CAPITALS.

• Please nominate a pickup location.

• Please call the library if you need a PIN assigned.

INTERNET & WORDPROCESSING ACCESS

• Broadband and wireless access available at some libraries.

STORYTELLING

• Please enquire about times.

DONATIONS

• Donations of items are most welcome. Please ask staff for details.

LOANS

• Members must present their library card when borrowing.

• Fifteen (15) items per card may be borrowed.

• All items have a loan period of four (4) weeks except magazines, DVDs and videos, which are a two (2) week loan.

LATE RETURNS

• Reminder notices are sent out when items are overdue.

• New items cannot be borrowed until overdue items are either returned or renewed.

• Items on reserve for other borrowers cannot be renewed.

ILL – INTERLIBRARY LOANS

• Items may be borrowed from libraries outside the Southern Downs Region. Please ask staff for details.
